==Screen change==

Here's my take on it. I think that in this case, 16:9 is the baseline aspect ratio. 4:3 is hor -, and 16:10 is vert +.

To the end user, that means that the transition from 4:3 to 16:10 is both hor + and vert +, while 4:3 to 16:9 is just hor +.

It's an extremely unusual way of handling widescreen. No other game out there behaves this way, and I had to expand my database program to account for this behavior. But I don't see this as flawed in any way.

As for the game menus, can you provide three comparison shots? One at each aspect ratio?

==Cut-scenes==

Does the game have any cut-scenes other than company logos? We don't care about those.

== Grading ==

Calculated grade: C+
Potential grade: B+

Major unresolved issues:
Is 1280x768 supported?

Minor unresolved issues:
*waiting for your response*

Summary of widescreen-related flaws:
Some HUD stretch

Cranky's coverage estimate: 87.5%

I picked a rather strange game to be my first review. :?
and those FMV's I picked, LOL, it's not the "EA Sports" logo, it's the start of the FIFA 08 starting movie, where they do all the tricks and such.

Alright, here 3 pictures of team selection:

4:3

16:10

16:9

And here are 3 Main Menu screen:

Ok. It looks like with the FMV and the 2D screens, 4:3 is correct and 16:9 is correct, but 16:10 is a squashed version of 16:9. The system doesn't really account for this behavior as a flaw unless it's part of the actual gameplay. So:

== Grading ==

Calculated grade: C+
Potential grade: B+

Major unresolved issues:
Is 1280x768 supported?

Minor unresolved issues:
Are 1280x800, 1440x900, 1920x1080, and 1920x1200 supported?

Summary of widescreen-related flaws:
Some HUD stretch

Cranky's coverage estimate: 88.5%

Game crashes for me if I use 1920x1080 in locale.ini, did anybody have either success with this or by adding 1920x1080 to the desktop shortcut?!

Has anyone had any results using fifa08 on resolution 1920x1200x32 ???

As far as iam aware my equipment supports that resolution and as far as iam aware my monitors native resolution is 1920x1200x32 which i have it set at in windows.

When i change the in game resolution to 1920x1200 it doesnt seem to display properley for some reason, cropped and stretched etc, i would show you a couple of screenshots ive took but i cant see how i do that in here, how do i add screenshots ??

This is crap this problem with the game as ive just bought my new computer and monitor basically to be able to play the game at full resolution but i have to reduce it to 1600x1200x32 before it looks ok, it suks :evil:

Anyone any ideas on a fix please ??

Ohh, the graphics driver iam using is version 169.25.
