Yeah, Relic has achieved an unprecedented level of detail in this game. Even their mouths are lipsynced to the things they say. All of their animations are context sensitve, with something like 700 compared to the 150 used in DoW. Then add in HDR lighting, normal mapping, and destructable terrain, and you start to get an idea how cinematic this game will be.

Should be murder on any decent system

mine runs a little sluggish. on the demo with performance test my rig only averages 15fps at max/ultra settings at 1680 res. plays better than it sounds though

I hope this game has decent triplehead support. Probably will blow though. Oh well, my comp is just barely capable for this game at standard res.

RE FPS ????? :?

Quote:

"Beginning with the D-Day Invasion of Normandy, players lead squads of Allied soldiers into battle against the German War Machine through some of the most pivotal battles of WWII. Through a rich single player campaign, players experience the cinematic intensity, courage and bravery of ordinary soldiers thrust into extraordinary events."

Hi Doug ...
I have looked at 10 pages of screenshots over at IGN.com ... not one looks like it is in first person ...
At 3D gamers ... it says it is a real time 3D Strategy game ...

So I would say no it does not have a FPS element ... :(

This is Relic, makers of Homeworld and Dawn of War. This game runs on a highly modified version of the Dawn of War engine.

The game is awesome, and has great widescreen and triplehead support.

Decent game. I'm not big on the control points idea, but I do like the idea of using cover for you soldiers and the tanks battles are intense
AMAZING graphics for a RTS! just zoom all the way in WOW

BTW when i installed i saw a notice "you have dual core ... there are issues"
I haven't noticed ANY issues yet....
