My first post here, aside from the hello post, and I'm actually here because of this problem. Well that, and a friend of mine is a mod here and told me to come here.

So the problem is, is I've got 3 mixed monitors setup through eyefinity. I've got two HD 797's hooked up in crossfire, but every single game I have crashes during the game's intro video and locks up my entire pc whenever I have crossfire enabled. All of the games run fine across the three monitors when crossfire is disabled, but the frame rates suck. At most, I average around 25fps. I mean it's enough to play the game, but not enough to really enjoy it on 3 monitors. I've checked Google for hours and can't find anyone that's having the same problem as me or a solution to my problem. So anyone ever heard of this or know a solution?

PC rundown is as follows:

AMD FX 8120 (water cooled)
8gb of ram
2 AMD HD 7970 3gb in crossfire
1,000w PSU
3tb hdd
250gb ssd
Windows 7 64bit
AMD CCC 14.12 using the display drivers that came with it.

The three monitors from left to right in my setup:

Acer 21" 1650x1050 at 60hz
AOC 27" 1920x1080 at 60hz
Asus 27" 1920x1080 at 60hz

You might try the new drivers from AMD, which now support different size monitors.

I'll try downloading the latest beta drivers when I get home. I didn't think it'd be an issue since thwbdrivers that came with the latest version of CCC are newer than the latest beta drivers. But I'll give it a shot and update with the results.

Can you run the cards crossfired on a single screen resolution without crashing?

Yes. Crossfire works fine on a single monitor. I've gotten over Bioshock and Crysis run at almost a constant 200fps when using a single monitor with crossfire enabled.

Update: I went to download the latest display drivers, and I already have them. So no help there. I even re-sized my desktop to the expand option instead of fill. Still no luck. Everything single game I have crashes during or right after the intro with all of the developers and publisher credits.

2nd Update: Tried going back to a single monitor and Crossfire no longer works for any game. I can hear the 2nd card starting up when I enable crossfire, but every game crashes now with crossfire enabled.

This is getting incredibly aggravating...

Solved this problem sort of. Completely deleted all display drivers and related programs and then reinstalled. Crossfire now works,
