Why no widescreen talk of this game? Is it... Native?

If not, any workarounds yet for 2560x1600?

Since's its on the flexible quake 2 engine, I am really hoping that 2560x1600 is possible.

Yeah it should be doable. I'll install the demo and check it out.

The Quake2 engine is flexible, but that also means it is flexible for developers to change it in an undocumented way that makes it very difficult to alter once again. I have been trying on and off for a long time to get Anachronox to work on TH2GO surround, but the menus are messed up because they use a fixed aspect ratio and 'Planet' the build editor is somewhat complex. I might try again in the future, but even if you get the engine and the menus to work there are still the cinematics.

So... It's not a workable solution for non-triplehead?

Not at this time, for any widescreen resolution. As has been stated all the HUDs and menus scale to 4:3 using the horizontal fov as their horizontal dimension. So everything gets cropped off the bottom of the screen making battles unplayable.

The game is Vert - as well and every cut scene can use different fov values IIRC.

So the game just got released on Steam... Any luck? I would like to play this on a widescreen, with proper HUD mods. I hope the game is popular enough for someone to mod widescreen interfaces in, like KOTOR1.

Not sure about the steam version. I think it has DRM and poorly suited for widescreen fix. To be more specific I need those files - anox.exe and ref_gl.dll from steam version.
As for the gog.com version, I can probably fix it.

You can test 5760x1080.

GOG version - tested your 5760x1080 file and works perfectly apart from a small anomaly:

In the following screen the white interior that the female figure is in should stretch to full width, as if she is looking out from the interior through a window. This might occur elsewhere in the game, but I have through to the first combat tutorial and everything else, including the mini-game in the bar, works just as it should.

I had to set it too 1600x1200 in the GCT Setup.exe in the GOG version to get your resolution.

If you're going to release a series of resolutions, could you modify for 5040x1050?

Thanks for your efforts with this! :twothumb:
