Damn, that's expensive. $186 usd. Why cant we get a company to unleash it over here instead of importing.

Guys, are you mainly interested in ADDING (up to) 3 monitors to your current setup with this device? Or is it using your current setup in a different way? Or both perhaps?

I'm just trying to understand exactly what this is capable of.

In theory, could you run one very long display port cable from your vid card to your monitor, and then have this thing at the end right next to your monitors, with 3 short cables from this device to your monitors?

I have 5 monitors, my cards can do up to 6, the issue is that I get massive tearing on all monitors except one depending on how I set it up. I need at least 5 connections that are the same, hence getting one of these. ATM I'm running 3240x1920 instead of 5400x1920. My 5870 Eyefinity 6 was better than my 7970's.

Fot those who are interested, yesterday i finaly found a proper review (still only 3 pages) of the Club 3d MST display hub.
Its from a (dutch) site i read daily:
http://nl.hardware.info/reviews/4700/club-3d-mst-hub-review-drie-schermen-op-een-displayport-aansluiting
(copy paste in google translate for the few who cant read dutch?)

The conlusion is that it does what Club 3D promisses
(there is even a Club 3D representitive answering questions from readers in the article reactions section)

One of their conlucions is that laptop owners with a dp1.2 VGA card have no problem adding 3 monitors on top of the laptop screen... try carrying that around hehehe
I for one never thought of my laptop but instead am dreaming of a 5x1 portrait gaming setup for so long now.
With a 6970 i know that the eye candy cant be maxed out, and to prevent tearing i need 2 hubs at about 100 euro's a piece.
And for a crossfire setup we need de v2 of the micro stutter prevention catalyst driver, which isnt out yet... :eh:
Not to mention the dilemma of waiting for a Radeon HD9000 rumoured to launch in a couple of months

Hi, I just got this device and I've been testing it for a bit. I got it in preparation for a 5x1 Eyefinity setup. I currently have a GTX680 and can confirm that Nvidia Surround doesn't work (at least with 320.18 driver):

Also, it doesn't seem to have enough bandwidth to drive three 1440p displays:

I can get two at 1440p but the third stays at 720p.

One surprise was that the device didn't come with a power cable (from AC adaptor to wall), fortunately I had a matching one from my laptop.

Testing this hub in Linux now, still the same limitation. Not sure if it's the graphics card or the hub.

Code:
(--) NVIDIA(0): Valid display device(s) on GeForce GTX 680 at PCI:1:0:0
(--) NVIDIA(0):     CRT-0
(--) NVIDIA(0):     HP ZR2740w (DFP-4.1) (connected)
(--) NVIDIA(0):     HP ZR2740w (DFP-4.2) (connected)
(--) NVIDIA(0):     DELL U2711 (DFP-4.3) (connected)
(--) NVIDIA(0):     DFP-0
(--) NVIDIA(0):     DFP-1
(--) NVIDIA(0):     DFP-2
(--) NVIDIA(0):     DFP-3
(--) NVIDIA(0):     DFP-4 (boot)
(--) NVIDIA(0): CRT-0: 400.0 MHz maximum pixel clock
(--) NVIDIA(0): HP ZR2740w (DFP-4.1): 960.0 MHz maximum pixel clock
(--) NVIDIA(0): HP ZR2740w (DFP-4.1): Internal DisplayPort
(--) NVIDIA(0): HP ZR2740w (DFP-4.2): 960.0 MHz maximum pixel clock
(--) NVIDIA(0): HP ZR2740w (DFP-4.2): Internal DisplayPort
(--) NVIDIA(0): DELL U2711 (DFP-4.3): 960.0 MHz maximum pixel clock
(--) NVIDIA(0): DELL U2711 (DFP-4.3): Internal DisplayPort

Two of the three 1440p displays work in 2560x1440 but the third has to be 1280x720, no other mode seems to work, not even lower resolution ones.

Code:
(EE) NVIDIA(0): DisplayPort validation failed for MetaMode
(EE) NVIDIA(0):     "DPY-6:2560x1440+0+0{rotation=left},DPY-7:2560x1440+2880+0{rotation=left},DPY-8:1280x800+1440+0{rotation=left}"

Interesting, I knew about only being able to have 2 2K displays, but I find the 720p only limitation for the third display strange.
