Hi!

Got my first WS screen (2005FP) a couple of days ago but I can't seem to get Doom 3 working correctly in 1680*1050. I have checked the other threads about Doom 3 so I have the correct resolution running but there is a weird effect... the game stretches in some strange fish-eye way... What is the cause of this? I got patch 1.1 for the game as well..

Thanks for any suggestion to resolve this!

Did you set the variable r_aspectratio in the DoomConfig.cfg to 2, for 16:10?

Yes.. I did that...

And the other settings looks like this:
seta r_customHeight "1050"
seta r_customWidth "1680"
seta g_fov "100"
seta r_mode "-1"

Could it be the FOV value that is buggering me?

Probably. I don't know what FOV Doom 3 uses by default (or rather, I can't remember), but if it's fisheyeing, the likelihood is that it's too high. Try turning it down to 90, and if there's still a problem, 85.

You shouldn't have to alter the FOV if you set the r_aspectratio to 2.
Just remove the FOV line.

Hope this helps .... :D

It didn't work by just removing the FOV line... but after some browsing around I found this:

http://ucguides.savagehelp.com/Doom3/FAQ_Widescreen.htm

I put it all in an autoexec.cfg file in the base directory and it seems to have resolved the issue.. not 100% sure it was that since I fiddled around a bit with the files..

But at least it might help someone else..

/a bit edgy from Doom 3 session
