Here's a solution if anyone wants one: http://bit.ly/Hcdjlo

That trick works pretty good but you don't play in fullscreen so memory management could be faulty but at least the mouse won't appear all sketchy because you play at 1600x1200 or some other 4:3 resolution and nothing is really stretched as far as I know.

I forgot about the HUD issues that arise from the solution I posted and used but is there anyone that could help me fix that?

I own the game on GOG and I haven't it installed ATM but I could send the .exe to make it work for 1920x1080 at least? :)

jackfuste Works great. Thanks a lot.
Too bad there still a bug occurs, after any cutscene the picture gets stretched. I have to switch resolutions or restart the game to fix that.

I tested 2560x1600 res and the fonts and green health bar are fixed. jackfuste, thank you for fixing this.

The game still requires the -window switch for non-native resolutions, otherwise it crashes out with an error. Taking screenshots in Steam works, but it truncates 13 lines so that the screenshots are 2560x1587. I noted this previously in the Steam forums.

An AutoHotkey script that maximizes the game window can be downloaded from a link in the Steam forums: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1963433

No crashes for me on full screen.

MSxDOS, can you please explain how you're getting this to work? Are you setting the resolution in the game or in the config.lua file? What resolution are you choosing?

1280x1024 in game. Exe file for 1920x1080. That's all.

Hi

By using -window mode and changing config.lua file I managed to force Spellforce to work with 1680x1050 resolution. However it has all annoying issues You described like no health bar, tiny font etc.
I was happy to find out that there is a solution for this, but exe files attached to this topic are not working with my Spellforce Platinum Edition version and I am not able to patch game to 1.54 version.
I would be very grateful for fixing my exe file.

Here it is: SpellForce.7z

Thanks for help!

Hi, I tried the 1920x1080 exe and it 'works' with my Spellforce Universe copy of Spellforce. However, as mentioned by MSxDOS there is a pretty significant issue with stretching after every cutscene. In fact I thought this fix was completely useless to begin with, because I tried it with a brad new install and character, and there is a cutscene when you first enter the game, so everything was stretched off the bat.

If this cutscene issue could be resolved, that would be excellent. This solution is better than the other widescreen 'fix' involving borderless windowed mode (that method caused a glassy ripple effect over the whole screen), but It still needs work.
