I actually have my TESV.exe set to read only and steam has honored it... same with my skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini.

I made a backup copy anyway just in case but I haven't been forced to use it.

Never mind, it just forced it. Confirming read only does NOT protect you.

Honestly in prior patches all I needed was to put in the correct TESV.exe to get my old patches to work. Think i've got an old 1.3v sitting around that worked with Hayden's patch just for this reason. Though I wanted 1.5 so I could use mods =/

Yeah, that's what I mean. With all the known complaints and issues, I can't believe there isn't a package available somewhere on the internet with each and every version that's been updated. I'm looking for 1.3 or so. Looks like Hayden is close to release with his next fix, but like I said, so many are left skyrimless until then without those older version files.

My main reason for not is copy right issues.... no matter the purpose, idiot people with lawyers will claim "omg you're pirating! Time to sue!" Only place I find anything close to old packages of the install are from pirate sites.. go figure.

I do think it's time however that we work on a more permanent solution. With the creation kit out, I know we can start modifying certain data files to fix quite a bit of the issues helifax and hayden have to work with. It would be much easier to from a sustainability stand point to create a mod or series of mods that work for us in the multi-monitor community.

The solution would have to be 2 prong.

1. The engine for 3d renderings. This would be a great place to work with the creation kit on. For instance right now i'm testing out modifications to the load screens with scaling and placements so that our multi-monitor load screens will always work.

2. The interface. Mods like Skyui are a great platform and something we should really try to learn a lot from to develop our own adaptation of the mod for multi-mon.
