Post subject: | Window 10 4K monior with 2 1080's question |
I recently bought a Dell 27in 4K monitor. In my new triple monitor setup, the 4K is in the middle and the other 1080's to the left and right. I am currently using WIndow 7 Pro 64bit and this version came out before 4K monitors in which they don't play well together. I want to game on just the 4K monitor, but to do that I have to disable both 1080's and it is a pain in the butt. I read Windows 8 somewhat addressed this but not completely. Reading about Windows 10 that you can do the following: 1-set resolution for each monitor 2-set the scaling for each monitor 3-set the DPI for each monitor. 4-do 1-3 in a surround setup? I have single Evga 980 for the graphics card Anyone with triple monitors using Windows 10 can offer their experience? Can Windows 10 really do 1 to 4?? |

For nVidia surround you need to have the same resolution on all Monitors. AFAIK |

Haldi wrote: For nVidia surround you need to have the same resolution on all Monitors. AFAIK That was not my question. I am in surround right now with 1-4k monitor windows 7. Does Windows 10 address multi monitors with different resolutions is my question. I am reading in Windows 10 you can make resolutions changes, but I would like to know from a win10 users if that is true. I really don't want to go from win7 to win10 unless 10 does the things I am reading Quote: Windows 10, like Windows 8.1, includes an option to adjust the DPI (dots per inch) scaling on a per-monitor basis using a percentage scale. This wonderful tool gives you more granular control when you're using monitors of varying resolutions, rather than applying a single DPI scaling percentage to all of your monitors—which can result in nasty sizing wonkiness—as older versions of Windows did. Jep, Scaling works over a single Monitor. used VSR to get my Monitor to 3200x1800 Pixel and activated 175% scaling. Toothless, seems to me you will want to run 1080p-4K-1080p mixed resolution LLL (AMD specific, as Haldi implied), along with Windows 10 scaling to line up image. It sounds like an excellent setup, with high detail center & light sides. I hope you succeed. I am thinking in the same direction (but for PLP). If it works well, it will create incredible flexibility for multi-monitor. I don't know yet how well Win10 will scale individual monitors (I'm still on win8.1). There is a pretty high chance this Win10 feature will not be great for MM fullscreen gaming (might not look good, or be useless, or broken in a common scenario). But it may look good enough, or even great. Related Win10 scaling questions were posted here (no-one answered): http://www.wsgf.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=68&t=30145 We may have to test it ourselves. I'll get to it in a month or two, hopefully someone else will answer first. |

Found out it is a "Windows" issue that Microsoft is not listening. Problem being multi monitors with a 4K monitor. Found this information where you mess with registry. Didn't stick for me, so that was my inquire if WIndows 10 would be any better, but no http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/wind ... =10&auth=1 I do appreciate your interest if you should be in my situation |

Toothless, Windows 10 scaler is now game-tested, results are here: http://www.wsgf.org/blog/imusrt/2015/12/08/windows-10-screen-scaling-multi-monitor-review Basically Win10 scaler won't work in your scenario. You would have to instead try VSR on your 1080p sides (at high cost-to-card, so high you wouldn't do it). But VSR may not scale enough to match 1080p sides to your center 4K, or it may not work at all. Didn't for me, you may have better luck. VSR solution is basically theoretical. |

what I ended up doing is 5760 X 1080 Then game only on the center 4K monitor. I can still game on 3 monitors, but at 1080 |
