Hi everyone! I am knew to the site, and could use some help.

I am trying to decide which curved Ultra Wide 21:9 monitor is going to be the best for me. This is not a cheap purchase and I need to make sure I get the right one, as my wife will likely not let me buy more than one. (not even sure she is going to approve this purchse yet, I am working on it!) :)

I am looking at the following:
    Samsung 34uc97
    LG 34uc97m
    Dell U3415W
I have a custom made computer:
    i5-4690k
    NZXT Kraken X41
    EVGA Stinger Mini ITX LGA1150
    G.Skill Ripjaws 16GB DDR3-1600
    OCZ ARC 100 240GB SSD
EVGA GeForce GTX 970 SSC ACX 2.0
    Thermaltake Core V1
    EVGA 850W
I mainly use the system for Unity development and my love of Roleplaying Games. Most recently Pillars of Eternity and Divinity: Original Sin. Those are the type of games I will play. I play most of the my FPS and such on my Xbox One.

I will also use the monitor on days I work from home (the reason my wife will let me buy it in the first place)

Hopefully that gives you enough info to go on. Just wanting to make sure I make the right choice once and not have buyer remorse.

Thanks for any help!

AFAIK they all use the same panel (manufactured by LG) so discussions about input lag and reactivity tend to lead nowhere. And since you're not a photopgraph, specific features like hardware calibration won't make a difference... so why not just pick the one whose stand you like the most :P

Thanks for the info! I did not know they all used the same panel. Now I can buy based on esthetics and price at the time of purchase! :)

Now to keep working on my wife for approval!!!

YOu will also want to consider ports - I like that Dell put USB ports on their monitors. Might be worth checking dead pixel policies too.

The Dell also has built in speakers (not the best but they are integrated and hidden).
The Dell U3415W also has a builtin in KVM!!! I have my work laptop and personal tower pc plugged in at the same time and can easily switch between them using the capacitive bezel controls. Very awesome.

You could buy a monitor + speakers + kvm and still save a couple bucks, but if you're like me and you hold a certain pride for a tidy setup then the Dell U3415W is the obvious choice. I love mine.
