The bezel width is 20mm and the panel edge is 14 mm wide!!! Only 6 mm saved on each side I had this idea that I could remove the bezels on my 3 U2713HM's and then cut the bezels so I only removed the wasted space and kept most of the casing. This way I wouldn't have to remove the back plate, the side frame or front frame completely and they would still hold everything together (there is just some tape holding the panel and the connection box in place besides the casing). I must say I'm disappointed and I'd rather not deal with the loss of functionality in order to trim 2 x 2 x 6 = 24 mm (when not overlapping monitors) of the total bezel width within the field of view. I assembled the monitor again and it still works fine Even though I didn't go through with my project I thought someone else might get something useful out of my efforts, so here are the pictures I took. Backside - REMEMBER to remove the 4 screws in the VESA mount Inserted a flat piece of metal to pry a small gap in between the front frame and the side frame. Carefully lifted the front frame with my fingers a bit next to the place I just pried open a bit Back plate (black) and side frame (grey) removed Close up of the corner of the previous picture Measuring the panels with (14.0 mm) Items not shown (as seen on other models of Dell monitors): - Monitor Control Unit placed inside on the bezel - Build-in USB Hub |
