Post subject:  Triple Display with 1x27" and 2x24" ?

I am looking to set up a triple display for my gaming PC, mainly for sim games like Mechwarrior Online, Warthunder, Star Citizen etc. I am wondering how viable it would be to use a 27" monitor as the center monitor and then using 24" monitors as the side monitors, but set up in portrait mode. This won't let the cockpit wrap around as much as if you were using three 24" monitors, but I'd really like the extra real estate on the center screen, as the sides tend to mainly just be for excess eye candy and immersion. Will a single card be able to run this, or would I be better off using one card for the main screen, and one for the outside monitors? Will I have sync issues? Any thoughts or insights before investing in the setup is highly appreciated. Thanks.

According to the specs listed for the Asus VG27HE and Asus VG248QE this is a scale representation of what I'd like to achieve:

Just still not sure if there is a way to only rotate the outside monitors to portrait mode and keep the center in landscape?

This is called a PLP Setup. Portrait, Landscape, Portrait.
And it's only supportet by SoftTH. (DX9 limited)
You cant create a SLS (Single Large Surface) in Eyefinity or Surround.

I just switched from a 22" x 32" x 22" Landscape eyefinity system to 3 x 32".

Trick to the odd monitors is to level the two on the side to center of the middle screen.. So a straight line crosses them all in the middle at the same time.. Games played fine all was good..

Just recently switched to 3x32" which is nicer but you use what ya got...
