Question 2: I would say that 1 pair of nV cards, or a single eyefinity card is better than a TH2Go.
Question 3: This is personal, and screen based. If you have lots of room and IPS panels, the world if your oyster so to speak. If you have a small space and or TN panels, you are more limited.
Question 4: SLI/ Crossfire... interesting. They are 2 different techs from 2 different companies. Both work in basically the same way, although SLI is less prone to problems. 3 Displays via nVidia requires a dual card such as the GTX590 or 2 seperate cards, Eyefinity does NOT.
However!
You more or less need 2 cards of either sort to run 3 1080p screens anyway. So may not influence you much.
