First off, I'm very sorry if this is not in the correct section. I was really unsure as to where to put this.

Anyhow, I'm very curious about this Lucid Hydralogix that I've seen floating around. Can someone put it into simple terms for me? Do I /need/ a board that has it enabled, or is there some software solution or add-on card that I can use? Also, what are the benefits/limitations of it? Thanks :)

Lucid Hydra is like Crossfire or SLI, not like Eyefinity or Surround. It's many GPUs for one display, not many GPUs for many displays.

Oh, wow, I really should have put that together a while ago. I remember the whole Hydra motherboard deal a while back. So I'm guessing it's the same thing?

Jup. There is the HD 6970 iceQ MIX. Which has a lucid chip. So you can use it with ANY other GPU.
there are some mobo's with the chip. You can put ANY two GPU's on it as you like.
and if i'm correct there once was an extra PCI card with the chip.

This chip does make your GPU's work together wether you use 2AMD, 2Nvidias or AMD +Nvidia together.like AMD's APU works in crossfire with a PCI GPU this is said to work with intel IGP + PCI GPU.

I just have no idea if or how they would work with Multi Monitor.
