I'm searching for a Laptop that plays Half Life 2 & Mass Effect 1 Smoothly. I found a few in the $550 - $600 range refurbished but as you know, there's always trade-offs.
Here are the laps I'm considering but I don't knwo if they can handle ME1

- ASUS K50ID-X1
- Asus n80vn-a1
- Asus UL50VT-RBBBK05
- Toshiba Satellite A660D-BT2N22

for HL2 performance, battery life and appearance/slim design I'm thinking the Asus UL50VT-RBBBK05 out of those 4 mentioned. Has rave reviews for over-all performance, dual GPU's (integrated and descrete), reliability and the battery life is awesome (7+ hours using integrated GPU).

The ASUS K50ID-X1 has powerful graphics but the battery life is 1.5 hours and if the Asus UL50VT-RBBBK05 will smoothly play Mass Effect 1 (low res, no AA) I'd be good to go.

Any suggestions about these four laps or any others (refurbished, used or otherwise) is much appreciated

Cordially yours,

tomana
