I make a challenge to the Monitor People everywhere! In the next year I want to see the following.

Type: LED LCD
Refresh Rate: 120Hz
Style: H2-IPS
Screen Size: 24"
Brightness (Typical): 250 cd/m²
Contrast Ratio (Typical): 1000:1 Static CR
Resolution: 1920 x 1200
Response Time (Typical): 2ms(G2G) <- More realistic might be 5ms (Thanks!)
Viewing Angle (Horizontal/Vertical): 170º/160º (CR>10)
Color Support: 16.7M
Connector: DVI-D/HDMI/DP
Energy efficiency: ENERGY STAR® 5; EPEAT® Gold
Portrait Mode

Added (01Boxer):
Thin Bezels
Affordable (MASS PRODUCE THEM PLEASE!)

This x5 is what I would like to see. Get going!

Resolution won't fly with this new fangled 1080p being all the hype. :(

Well, I am not to worried if it only is 1080, but I just wish they made something along those lines.

Yeah, it's a shame really. 1080p screens can't run 1600x1200 for older non-widescreen games.

Personally I'd settle for a bit more than 2ms response. 2ms is just ridiculous imho.
Also, if you have an IPS, you'll have those viewing angles, probably more like 178/178. They all have that these days.

Well, my HP is getting close though. All it lacks is the LED, HDMI and ridiculous response.
I'd say chances are your dream monitor may be out soon, though at something like 5ms instead of 2.

Question is, say the screen is 120Hz, which gives roughly 8ms lag from the screen refreshing, the input lag + response time should be the lag between the refresh and then the thing being seen right? So say a screen with a 5ms GTG response, and 14.4ms "lag" (Dell U2410 taken from a review), is it really 9.4ms lag + 5ms response time? I can't quite get my head round how that works.

In that case, I would like to add a low input lag to my list of wants, the Dell U2410 in game mode seems acceptable. Would be better to have nothing of course, but until we get low response screens via OLED for example, it cannot be perfect.

Though I like the IPS better then the other current LCD matrices, I would prefer PLED. Its possible with PLED to make a borderless display. Imagine widescreen gaming, where you can take two or more of these and create a bigger screen with no bezel!

Is there any info when those PLEDs will hit the market?

@ideal screen
24-26"
1920x1200
S-PVA-picture quality
low input lag (10ms)
displayport
almost no bezel
around USD 300.-

Most important I would like to see an out-of-the box-perfect-monitor. No color tint, no viewing-angle-issues, no black-dept-problems. Just a nice one. I prevented myself from buying a TFT long time. With my Iiyama VisionMasterPro 454 in use till 2007 I was one of the last mohicans. This CRT was perfect, but it became to small.

Hmmm, interesting. I would like to see this as well, guess it is another wait and see. If this would be able to have the same specs as the ones I listed above, that would be awesome.
