I have three AOC 619fh 26" monitors and i decided to dismantle the casing so that i get thin bezel for triple screen gaming. People in another thread said that they would like to see some photos. I regret that i didnt take photos or a video while i was actually in the process of dismantling. Now i can only show the aftermath. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2LRhE1ACsQ <- video

now thats what I call immersion! looking at your last screeny for a moment I was wondering if you had the rollcage installed infront of your screens :doh will try that someday on my screens, although I dont want to remove the casing completely, just cut off/file off the accordings parts. |

thanks guys :) What i would like to see is if someone has done it to Dell with touch sensor osd buttons. I must admit i wouldnt do it on that kind of monitor without first knowing how to go about those buttons. @ ChainSOV I thought about doing what you said but went against it because this way i can put them back as they were. It would look better your way though. |

It could be that certain colours are associated with a certain era. Beige sweater and warm white (yellowish) light bulb in that room (not bright enough for camera to capture true colours) which gives the picture a kind of washed out tone. It might look like it was filmed in the 70's because of the way i dressed. As seen, i have a poor taste for fashion but it's not deliberately 70's themed if that's what you ask. |

You motivated me to do this to my U2410's and 2405wpf. Very simple to do and it cuts out trims it down about ~1/4" on each monitor. I would like to make a mold of some sort of mold to make the appearance that it is all one unit. Any ideas? If anyone is curious about the U2410's: 1)Take the front bezel off using gentle force. Once you get around the power putton area their are two connectors, take some needle nose plyers and release the clips. 2)pull the screen out of the box (go around to each corner and pull) Eventially it will come loose, just take your time. 3) once out unscrew the mini screw that holds the power button board in. Comes out easy 4) for the remaining 5 sensor buttons... This is the most delicate part. take a flat head and pry closes to where the power button was. This strip is taped down and takes some very gentle force. 5) Once your done with that the screen is ready to go back on the stand. I put the sensor buttons in some clear heatshrink for the time being just to protect the stickiness of it. It works well as long with the power button. There is no way to mount them so I just put them behind the screen out of site. At this point everything can be put in the original case with no problems and no way to tell that I dismantled it. I plan on using this is portrait mode which is perfect for this. The problem with doing this in landscape is there are 4 little tabs on the left and right parts of the U2410's that will make it difficult to butt them against each other. You could hack these off with a dremel but then you would be altering the screen and will probably void your warranty. Also I'm using a third part stand so I don't know if it will fit back on the original stand. I assume it wont. |

What a simple solution to this problem. This might influence the next set of monitors I consider for purchase. Might be able to save some money looking at wider bezel monitors and avoiding the lack of selection in "thin" bezel monitors out there. Thanks for sharing! |
