Dear All I'm trying to upscales the games like the consoles do it, but I dont know how to do it, any sugestions are appresiated. The thing is to maintain the SIGNAL OUTPUT signal 1920X1080p 60Hz to my TV or monitor (actualy Dell 2407), but running any game in lower resolution, just exacly the XBOX360 or PS3 does. :x I know the XBOX360 has the upscaling incorporated in his hardware acceleration internal process, but I dont know if we can do the same with the PC graphics card. I have 2 evga 260GTX's in SLI running in XP SP2, with Driver version 191.07 but I dont have any luck setting in the Control Panel. I also try the same in the Windows 7i without any success. Please help me, because I dont sleep trying to set this option if is avaliable for the PC Gamers. Sincerely Errol Freeman MEXICO CITY |

what's the point of running in a lower res than native ? unless said game can't do the native res of course ... anyway, to answer your question PC scaling is done either by the gfx card or directly by the screen in your case you want the gfx card to do it unfortunately it's not always enabled in the drivers for obscure reasons I don't remember anymore (something had to do with HDTV signal protection I think) In the nvidia control panel it should be under "adjust desktop size & position" I don't know if it still works but at some point in time options were just greyed out, and you could change it with command lines like: %windir%system32rundll32.exe NvCpl.dll, dtcfg setscaling you may want to read the following threads : http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=78903 http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=55998 or even better consult NVIDIA API pdf: http://developer.download.nvidia.com/SDK/9.5/Samples/DEMOS/common/src/NvCpl/docs/NVControlPanel_API.pdf (then search for setscaling) |
