Hey guys I'm thinking of replacing my xhd3000 with a sharp aquos 37 wtih Vyper Drive Game. Reason is 2560x1600 is a monster of a res and I really don't see the advantage of it over my lowly 1680x1050 res 20". Also the xhd3000 chas insane mouse lag on non native res and it's really unacceptable to me. The performance hit is absolutely monstrous even for my HD4870x2. So I'm thinking of picking up this LCD instead (which touts as having no lag even for consoles). Anyone know if there will be any problems with native resoltuion? I hear sometimes even though the lcd says 1080p a pc is unable to render that signal properly. Thanks guys.

Do you select the res via 1920*1080 or do you force 1080p in the options on your pc? Also how well dose the vyper mode work (from I hear it's amazing with GH type of games).

I am using a Sharp LC32GP3U as my monitor. No problems at all!

Most modern LCD HDTVs have a "PC mode" (via a dedicated connector on the TV which is usually D-sub/DVI input) which allows max resolution of 1360x768. However, when you connect thru a HDMI input, you can usually choose 1080p from the Display Properties.

Page 18 (http://www.sharpusa.com/files/tel_man_LC32_37GP1U.pdf) of the Manual of that Sharp model says it can go up to 1600x1200 if you use the dedicated DVI input.

My bet is if you connect via a HDMI input, it will have 1080p. But the only way to be sure is to bring a laptop to a local store and try it on the spot. This is the only way to be certain.

Read through the reviews on newegg: you get the full 1080p on DVI if you use a dual link cable or an hdmi slot. Thanks guys I'm sold.

Make sure you test thoroughly and come back to post a Detailed Report on the display. We'd like to get all the widescreen displays we can into the Wiki.

Just using default display setting, I don't have to force anything. The only thing I do on the TV is select PC mode to turn off overscan.

Oh one more question: are you using dual link DVI, single link dvi or hdmi to connect?
