well i ended up getting it for $499, so far so good, the extra desktop space sure is welcome
i have 2 questions, how do i tell which revision it is, and which color mode is recommended?
I use Adobe RGB for pretty much everything. The sRGB mode will give the most accurate color space out of the box (per everything designed for 8 bit-per-channel color imagery), but I like the Adobe RGB mode better - it's pretty close to sRGB, just gives everything a bit more...zest.
I have had no issues with lag in this mode.
If you use the other modes, they are wide gamut and you'll need to color manage your apps or things will look pretty saturated.
You should be able to tell the revision from the box sticker, look for A00 or A01. If you don't have dithering in RGB modes you have the A01 revision.
If you somehow ended up with an A00 (I can't see many still being shipped/in stock) and there is no tint on the screen, I would keep it and simply update by flashing it yourself. I posted a link to the files on this forum if you end up needing them.
