I dont have any lag/delay problems on my 2408, and I cant see a difference between it and the A04 2407's next to it, but I never was one to notice that kind of stuff.

Maybe if I was still playing really fast games like UT2004 I would notice it.

Update:

Got a buyer for both of the 2407WFP monitors, they are going to a new home in Canada.

Then I placed my order with Dell for the 3x U2410's they honored my previously quoted price of $475 each and free shipping, with tax it came out to like $510 or so per monitor.

I then had to spend an hour on the phone with a different department to return the 2408WFP.

I really do not like how you cant have the same person do the return as the sale, it worried me that I may get problems with the return department not honoring what the sales team said about how I would not get a penalty for return.

I had to wait on hold for nearly an hour and speak with a supervisor but I got a prepaid label for return and no restock fee. (waiting on it actually should be in my box soon)

So the budget got stretched way bigger than I wanted but lets hope these U2410's are good monitors and last me a long time to make the purchase worth it. I cant wait to see 100% identical color and brightness/contrast across all 3 of my screens :D :D

here is the most indepth review I can find: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/dell_u2410.htm

I should say that they comare it to the HP LP2475w quite often as they use the same panel and stuff and in there test the HP had better contrast, better input lag, and better black level. Its also cheaper and still has a 3 year standard warranty.

I was able to find the HP from a reputable seller for $513 w/ free shipping

http://www.costcentral.com/proddetail/HP_LP2475w/KD911A8ABA/U09559/froogle/

That said I think I would be a tad upset if I paid the full $600 Dell wants for the U2410 but since I got it at the same price point I do not think I will be losing any sleep over it.

great mate, really great to hear. I was worried Dell would shaft you or something. Dell lately is really awesome, or really shit, mixed bag really.

Well lets see how they go...

Maybe you have a later revision 2408 which "fixes" the problem. Anyway just look at this youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnApFzmd9NY which compares a 2408 and a ViewSonic VP2030b side-by-side and its pretty obvious the 2408 has got input lag problems.

I have a Rev A02 the newest one, it may have been fixed.

The U2410 has really good input delay on game mode but its 2-3x higher when sRGB mode that I will use.

Since its a wide color gamut monitor without the processing from sRGB mode apparently the red & green get way overblown in game mode. I suppose I'll give it a try myself to see how I like it, it maybe wont be color accurate but as long as it looks good that is all that matters. With 3 monitors changing settings/modes will probably be semi annoying so most probably I'll stick in sRGB mode.

The Dell 2408WFP is a wide color gamut monitor too, that is probably why I could not get it to match the 2407's.

Edit: just saw that video, they mentioned Rev 01 may fix that problem but I also say that is not a valid test, when having an application on more than one monitor in span mode your computer processes the information its not just instantly displayed. Atleast thats how it seems on my setup. Clone mode or best yet Clone mode with a timer would have been the proper test.

I had originally gotten mine at $549 from dell.com. After seeing this I called back in and could only get them down to $524. I'd say you $475 is a damn good price.

I work at a hotel, I have to sell rooms and do customer service type stuff so its more natural for me to be able to talk myself into good deals :D

Still I think I could have gotten lower than $475 had I had more time on my hands. The competing HP monitor is almost $475 without any kind of haggling, and I think they have a 20% bing.com cashback event coming up meaning you can get that one a lot cheaper.

I am still interested in knowing what these ultra thin bezel 23" samsung monitors are going to be like too when they are reveled.
