I made it for fun about year ago, it can be done preety cheap - now these panels cost about 120$ each so 600$ total
I run it on i7 6850k + 2x gtx1070 sli
panels are 15,6" IPS 3840x1080 from aliexpress (with board controllers)
all displays are powered via 12V from pci-e plug (custom cable of course) (60-65W total power consumption only)
total resolution 10800x3840 and about 44-45" diagonal size (little over than 25:9 aspect ratio)
dirt2 and dirt rally works preety good at this setup, sadly I dont have any pics - only short movie from dirt2
