gpu: 2x evga 560ti evga SC 1GB (SLI'd)
cpu: AMB Phenom II X6 1090T
ram: 4x4GB 1066 G-Skill
mobo: ASUS M4N98TD EVO
screen: 3xAcer GD245HQ 120hz
psu: cooler master GW 750watts
storage(for psu power consideration) 4x32GB Patriod Torqx 2 ssds and a 500GB reg drive

Based on the specs given, I currently game on 3 120hz screens using dual 560ti's. Old games(Blackops and the like) are played at maxed out settings and Metro: Last Light at medium to low.

I'm looking to get my system upgraded for the sole purpose of being able to play games at better or at least more decent fps and better image quality.

My philosophy atm is 'to better enjoy the game, play it at 120hz using 3 screens(at a decent fps of course)'. Cut my balls right now if my testimony is just an illusion but 120hz, even on the desktop, makes a huge difference when it comes to experience. I tried showing the difference to friends who don't game or spend a lot of time on the computer but they can't determine the difference between the regular refresh rate on pc screens.

With financial constraints coming into play, I don't really have the financial capability to buy two of Nvidia's TITANs or at least two 680's although I know most of us dream of such.

I've been looking into dual 680's too, but I wanted to know if a single card would suffice also.

I've skimmed through all the others posts on this forum, about this subject(this one for example: http://www.wsgf.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=70&t=24895) but I never got the answer I was looking for.

I realize that the 680 only has 2DVI's which is capable of supporting 120hz screens. For the 3rd screen, there is the Display Port which, as I have read online, would also support 120hz but I haven't verified this with anyone yet.

I understand that my system is mediocre at best but as fact holds it, GPU spec is still the most impt. factor to consider.

I guess, and if it helps to get a better advice, let me put it in this analogy: consider this as a car that needs to be faster, more efficient with what I want it to do and I can only spend so much: what do I need to do with this current setup?

I am in a similar situation with 2 x GTX 480s, which can run most everything in high detail, but the two gpu fans run LOUD and are clearly maxed out.

EVGA has the best GTX 780 $659 coming out soon, and it compares to a Titan on most every test due to it's superboost of 25% over reference.

So I am now waiting on the GTX 770 $459 reviews when it comes out end of month.

Also to consider, might see some good deals on eBay for 680s once those users upgrade.

Im sure the titan would suffice for 3 monitors at 120hz, the thing has 384-bit memory and 6 gigs of vram. My 7950 plays most games 3 monitors wide at above 60 FPS, so im almost positive the Titan would wreck the hell out of that number.

Besides that, I would ditch the Phenom II as well. I went from a 1055t to a 3570k and the difference is literally night and day. Most games saw improvements of around 20-30 FPS, while CPU heavy games like Planetside 2 and Natural Selection 2 saw jumps about 50 FPS each.

Thanks for your insight, you just cost me about $800 of upgrades. I ended up with the following:
PNY 240GB XLR8 SSD : SSD9SC240GMDA-RB $189.99
Intel Core i5 3570K Boxed 3.4GHz Unlocked 3rd Generation Processor $229.99
Asus P8Z77-V LE Plus Intel Z77 1155 Motherboard $144.99

On top of that, I ended up upgrading from a coolermaster gx750 to a raidmax 1000w(since after upgrading to the hardware listed above my rig still kept on rebooting on random and research told me that it could be an issue with a degrading PSU). I would like to share this experience too: I have had this setup for quite some time(about 2 yrs)-> phenom2 x6/8-16GB ram/120(4x32gb)ssd/gx750watts/980a mobo and have never had any issue until recently that it just decided to reboot(randomly or regularly. I have tried stripping the attached devices/components to a bare to no avail.

You were right. I would jump to that conclusion about the difference of the two cpus being night and day, although there is still that upgrade, to consider too, from 4 striped 32gb ssd drives(Torque drives) to that single ssd disk.

With the upgrade purchase, I don't know if it's just me or if others feel the same way, but I'm happy and sad at the same time. I'm happy because almost my whole rig was upgraded. I'm sad, because, I had to spend a shitload and still didn't get that GPU that I was saving my monies for .
