Hi all, I've been a lurker on these forums in the past and finally joined; I am expecting my second 480gtx soon thanks to an awesome deal on Newegg and am considering going wide. It sounds awesome! I currently have a 23.5" Asus 3d monitor (1080p). I don't use the 3d capabilities of it atm, sometimes it seems cool, othertimes it just 'feels' like work looking at the images. My second 'moniitor' is a 32" Samsung TV, also 1080p. So now I wonders to myself, self, what should I get for a third? If this were your setup, what would you do? I like the size of the 32" and don't really want to sacrifice on the screen that I will be focused on mose of the time. Thanks for your comments!!! Xyrxes |

Post subject: | Greetings If your looking |
Greetings :welcome If your looking to get 1 monitor, I would preolly go for another 23.5" monitor, maybe a matching Asus if I could, then sit the 32" in the middle. However from experience with eyefinity and a bit with surround and matrox, the image does not look right when spanned across different size screens in that way. In an ideal world, I would invet in 2 more Asus 23.5 monitors, and use the Samsunsg TV as a forth monitor somewhere. I use 3x Dell S2209W's for eyefinity with a 42" Panasonic plasma sitting on top of them as a 4th display. |

Thanks for the welcome! It sounds like you have a nice setup there. In all honesty, I could swing picking up 2 of the smaller monitors and re-purpose the tv somehow. I've just been concerned that I've been spoiled by the single 32" and the 3 smaller monitors would pale by comparison. I understand that I would have far more width, but wouldn't the objects themselves seem smaller? Would I get the same distortion by parking a 27" in the middle? Thanks for the reply! Xyrxes |

Hi and welcome mate! I understand what you mean about giving up one large screen, but I personally prefer 3 screens of the same size. It sure makes it easier when gaming too, as far as setting it all up to work in games. |

Thanks for the welcome and the input! I may bite the bullet then and just get 3 27" screens. Was just hearing rumors though that there are some ultra slim bezel monitors coming out before the end of the year, so I may hold off since I will want this to be a long term investment. |

Considering you're going to be using the DVI output of the NVIDIA card, you could probably use an DVI > HDMI cable. You can get them cheaply from monoprice.com. Can't promise anything, as I've never tried it personally. |
