I appologise for not reading all of the post but a lot of information. I believe the basic premise of the author was to explain how to use Ndivia Surround for better use of desktop in a multi display system.
I have a suggestion for everyone. PLEASE GET Window 8. Windows 8 multi monitor support cures all issues/complains for Windows 7 and issues running Surround for normal desktop use. Windows 8 will allow you to run application include games on single monitor while still having other applications displayed on remaining monitors. Additionally it has nice features for the taskbar. You can have your primary taskbar on any monitor. How the taskbar appears on secondary monitors is your choice. Only show a taskbar when app is running on that screen... FINE works. Duplicate across all screens....WE CAN DO THAT. Show app on Main and Secondary monitors... THATS GOOD TOO..
In short, Windows 8 will allows for great use of screens for normal use. When you are read for widescreen gaming... Surround is there too. Only takes 15 seconds to switch between the two.
I the attached screen shot. I have WSGF open on Left Screen, Skyrim running on center, and Mail open on Right.
later....
