Hi all!

I recently upgraded my PC from 1x Sapphire HD5770 with 2 1680x1050 monitors to 2x EVGA GTX 660 (the brand new ones, not the Ti version) and added a 1920x1080 monitor to the setup.

The monitors are laid out on my desktop in the same orientation as listed in my sig:
[-----21" Samsung 216BW @ 1680x1050 via DVI-----][-----23" Acer S232HL @ 1920x1080 via HDMI-----][-----21" Samsung 216BW @ 1680x1050 via DVI-----]

I connected the monitors to the left-most GPU (as directed by the nVidia set up wizard) in the following configuration:

with the two Samsung monitors connected via DVI to the two DVI ports, and the Acer monitor connected via HDMI to the HDMI port.

When in extended mode, all three monitors display in their correct native resolution, 1680x1050, 1920x1080 and 1680x1050

However, when I switch to 2D Surround, the resulting resolution drops to 3840x1024 (1280x1024 x3), far below either of the two native resolutions and I cannot tweak the res any higher, resulting in very distorted and blurred image.

Suggestions?

Yup. but even if I set all three monitors to 1680x1050 from windows or nVidia CP, when I enable 2D Surround, I get dropped to 3840x1024 (4040x1024 with bezel correction)

All monitors need to share a common resolution, refresh rate and Sync polarity. it looks like the new monitor is a different sync polarity to the others? You might be able to create a custom inf file to overcome this.

It actually runs with 2xDVI and 1xHDMI? My HD7870 has to have 2xDVI and 1xDP.

Okay, WS noob time..."Sync polarity"?

Also, I tried some fix I found online, where I created a custom inf file using the driver for the two 1680x1050 monitors, then installing it for the 1920x1080 monitor, which after reboot had the computer recognize them as all three the same monitor, but that did not seem to affect the Surround problem. I was still dropped to 3x 1280x1024
