I want to run second life the game on two monitors with photoshop on the third monitor. I recently bought this pc -

intel i7-2600k 3.4GHz Sandybridge / 8gb ddr3 1333MHz / 500gb 7200RPM Storage / nvidia gTX 550Ti / windows 7 home premium . If I purchase a second card I'd like to know if it will run secondlife on maximum ultra settings . I don't know a thing about graphics cards and so i spoke to one of the game technicians and he gave me the system requirements page.

Would two Nvidia gTX 550Ti's work for this? Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello catukf,

If u got two GTX 550TI then u can run second life on three monitors on ultra. The game doens't requir much from your GPU. But the problem is that if you set those 2 GPU's in SLI and then in nvidia surround ur not able to play the game on 2 screens, because it stretch over your 3 screens. You could try to use SOFTTH to run the game on 2 screens and 1 screen for photoshop but i don't know if that wil work.

Hi sorry I didn't make it very clear. I would like to run second life on 2 monitors with two separate accounts. My main avatar on one monitor and alt account on the other (not stretched across 2 screens) On the third monitor I'd like to use photoshop. I was wondering whether two Nvidia G550TiS would run the game on ultra setting or would it be best to get rid of the 1 Nvidia g550TI that I have now and buy the ATI eyefinity card? Which option do you think would work best?

Hello Catukf,

I think the best thing is to buy a second GTX550TI because its cheaper then buying a hd6970 for example.
I also have bad experience with ATI, I bought a HD 7970 (Best card of ATI) and some games didin't run smooth because of the bad drivers. So i decided to go back to nvidia and that works great.
If you wanna run 2X second life and photoshop on 1 comp with 2 GTX550TI i don't know if it will handle but it is possible to do it but you cannot set your videocard in nvidia surround (otherwise you have to run the games in windowed mode.)

My advise is to look if your PC can handle the two second life applications now (without the second GTX550TI). If that is possible but not on highest settings then it will be possible with another GTX550TI to play it on highest, It really depends on your CPU too because Photoshop and 2X second live is kinda "heavy". (I recommend minimum i7-2500(K))

Good luck!
