I am running a 3 x 24" 1080 monitors currently on 2x GTX 970s and I am wondering about moving to one 21:9 3440x1440, 34" monitor in the future because of the additional pain of setting up surround for games which don't support it out of the box and the fact can't really go to Ultra at that resolution. My question is, because 3440x1440 is 21:9 aspect ratio, not many games would support that either right? So I would probably be in the same boat unless selecting 2560x1440 + black bars (which is nasty) for games that don't support it right? Of course looking at upgrading the GPUs also, probably a GTX 1080 (doubt it could do 3440x1400 at Ultra) or dual RX 480s and spend the difference on a freesync monitor. What are the experiences of people running the 34" 3440x1440 res screens?
