Hello I am needing some help on picking out triple monitors.

I will be using this for gaming 99% of the time.
I will be playing Planetside 2 mostly.

The only monitor I have narrowed down myself is the BenQ XL2420T.

I don't think I want to go with a PLS monitor because of the refresh rate + input lag, and also the fact of the resolution on 3 monitors would be very high.

I am leaning towards a 120hz monitor, but not for sure if that's the way to go.

I am looking for some advice that has experience with triple monitor setups.

If I buy 3 1920x1080 panels that is a resoultion of 5760x1080
If I buy 3 PLS the resolution is 2560x1440 with a total of 7680x1440

The problem is gaming in a FPS large enviroment, I dont know If I can get the frame per sec I need.

Thanks in advance for any help :)

well, if you have SLI Titan with 6GB VRAM you don't really have to worry about 7680x1440 (at least on 60hz)
You just sometimes have to switch from Ultra High to very high.

I do a lot of flying in Planetside 2, so I was thinking I might be better with 120hz monitor. I have never owned a 120hz monitor so I dont know if its worth it or not

PLP solutions are not advised due to the lack of support, the only way at present is to use SoftTH which is limited to DX9 only, Nvidia Surround/AMD Eyefinity will not work in PLP configurations.

I am not putting any of the monitors in portrait. I plan to use them all in landscape.

With Nvidia Surround/Eyefinity/Triple Head 2 Go landscape setups, I always recommend going with three 16:10 monitors, as 16:9 feels a bit too stretched for the already very wide resolution. The 16:10 ratio feels 'just right'.

I suggest you go for 3 x 1920*1080 but at 120Hz. This is what I have and 120Hz is just a win ( no 3d ).
must have would be 2560x1440 120Hz but so far I haven't found such screen.
http://www.iiyama.com/gb_en/products/prolite-g2773hs-1/ This is what I have, Screen got relly low input lag ( < 12ms ), fast pixel response but you need to recalibrate it because of poor factory settings.

Nope you didn't get what I've said. Input lag is not pixel response time.
The screen is actually 1ms (black to black) with agressive overdrive.

Quote:
Input lag is described as the lag between the output from a graphics card and the image which is displayed on the screen you are using. For LCD screens this should not be confused with pixel response time which describes the speed at which a pixel can change from one orientation to another.

And I always check Monitor test sites :p that's how I got my current surround ^^

Ah sorry my bad!
But messured with SMTT this would be the total Lag an not input lag only! right?
Wait, 'compared to CRT' so its just the difference Lag to a CRT which is supposed to have nearly no Lag..... graaah this is getting to complicated. The Lower the Better. That's all that matters. ^^
