I'm very new to eyefinity, I bought a 7950 a few weeks ago, and have been enjoying games on 3 screens ever since. A couple of days ago, I upgraded to windows 8. I noticed I was having issues in most of my games in eyefinity afterwords. I completely reinstalled and reconfigured my presets in CCC. That didn't fix it. I spent time changing every graphical/display setting in the games in question, then I completely deleted steam, reinstalled it, thinking that if it installed the steam for windows 8, and the games as well, maybe that would fix it. It didn't. My specific problems I've ran into so far that I'd really like to deal with:

In F1 2012. My HUD is no longer on the center screen, and my main menu/menu options/ notifications are stretched across all 3 screens making them hard to read. In windows 7, right out of the box on the proper display resolution, the HUD was centered, and the menu items all displayed on the center screen and were proportionate. I can't seem to figure this out. The game is still playable, but I much rather prefer to have my HUD centered, it makes it much less enjoyable.

Hitman: Absolution: When I change my resolution to 59xx x 1080, rather than the game take up all 3 screens like it did during windows 7, now, it goes into "widescreen" mode, but it just takes up the middle third of my center screen, and leaves the outside 2 monitors blank.

I'm sure there are other problems as well, but I'm wondering if there's something here that I'm missing. Maybe a setting in the CCC? I tried to set everything up completely identical to how it was in windows 7, yet these 2 games and possibly others I've yet to try react completely differently. Hitman is unplayable, and F1 2012 isn't optimal. Any ideas??

Have you tried right-clicking the game .exe > select compatibility tab > select Windows 7 x64 ?

While I was at it I would also select "run as administrator" on that properties page as well.

Are you running ATi's (or Nvidia for those folks) beta Windows 8 drivers? You did catch that right? ...beta? You're aware what the term beta means, right? It means, "some things and probably many things are still broken but its the best we have right now"

Windows 8 has that new graphical interface and probably handles the graphical subsystem a bit different than Windows 7 so really all the behavior you're describing seems pretty much in-line with what a user should expect.

Some other considerations are that Nvidia's and ATI's drivers are immature on that platform and none of the widescreen fixes have probably been tested on it either.
Also, I wonder how many game devs....right now.... are building games, testing games, and running games on Windows 8. My guess is very few. Its certainly not any game company's target demographic (Windows 8 users) and I will bet you money that NO game currently out has "Certified for Windows 8!" on the box.

Early adopters need to expect these types of problems/headaches. Not sure why you opted to go with Win 8 because by doing so you're basically testing the waters with a setup that more than likely isn't even being considered right now. Such a small percentage of users have 3 monitors and an even smaller number have 3 monitors and Windows 8.

Every OS that is released in to the wild is completely littered with bugs. Its a just a fact of life with any software. There are too many things to track down so devs have to prioritize what they're going to work on and when they choose the bugs to fix it is the bugs that the mAJORITy of users will be experiencing. NOt the .1% that have 2 video cards, 3 monitors, and have spent over $1000 on their PC.

These issues will likely be ironed out over time (6mo. to 1yr.) but you won't catch me upgrading to Windows 8 any time soon (or ever -> Windows ME anyone?) when everything is just getting to the point where it works on Windows 7 out of the box. Why invite issues?
