I realize the answer to this is going to vary a lot by game, but I'm wondering if anyone can give some general guidelines.

Every time I've heard of games centering the HUD, it's for a 3x1 landscape setup. I'm curious as to whether this can be done setups that use, say 5x1p or a 2x1 landscape projection setup. Does anyone have experience with those setups?

In short, it depend on the game, or whatever fix is being used. It's a matter of whether the game or fix was created with only 3x1l configurations in mind, or if it was coded more generally or to give users more control.

The best solution in my opinion is a HUD that can be repositioned by the player in game.
