I agree with
Dyre Straits that one should use monitors with native DisplayPort input with the Eyefinity 6 graphics card. It keeps things simple and avoids any issues with adapters.
I play mostly shooters and racing simulators and I currently use triple Dell U2410 monitors, 1920 x 1200 resolution, connected to an Eyefinity 6 card, similar to the setup that you mention in your other thread:

I recently upgraded from triple 22" 1680 x 1050 resolution TN panel monitors (Viewsonic V2262wm), and the improvement in video quality amazed me. I am very pleased with the upgrade.
I often select single-monitor mode when I am not multi-tasking, and I experience none of your concerns regarding viewing distance. Your described seating arrangement should work fine; choose the sight distance that works best for you.
I often play the shooter Shattered Horizon on single monitor because it is not multi-monitor capable. It looks astounding with the increased resolution and detail.
Overall, reasonably sized bezels do not annoy me. The bezels on the Dell U2410 are about 25% thicker than those on the 22" monitors I used before. I thought this might be a problem, but the U2410 bezels are no problem for me.
Again, I agree with
Dyre Straits concerning choosing now or holding off to see if thinner bezel monitors become available. You might be disappointed with tedious and/or unsuccessful color-matching of monitors if you buy one monitor model now and 2 more monitors of a different model later.
It may be worthwhile to arrange a demonstration of monitors at a nearby specialty electronics shop to see what monitor size, bezel size, and seating arrangement best suit you.
