Hi,

anyone with the same problem? or maybe in a different game? I am not aware where i should search the problem.

quantom rise is online since wednesday. i did play on thursday without any problems. on friday i got the first problems, the monitors switched during a mining mission off. the only way to get out was to push the start button, so that my computer shuts down. after several reboots i managed to play eve for about 30 minutes, then the same again.

yesterday it was totally worse. i could play only minutes in the morning, in the afternoon it worked about 3 hours before it happened again. there is no hind what provocates this, sometimes when using a gate, somtimes just when inside a station doing nothing, computer is almost 5 minutes on, and eve online 1 minute running. i tried it with premium graphic and turned premium off, it happens to both.

i openend the case of my computer, testing if it is overheating.... but when playing cod4 or hdro this does not happen (yet). everest shows me the same temperatures as always, about 70°C around the gpu (i only got the trial, it does not show me gpu directly) and vram about 50°C.
i tried to set the fan speed to 100% just to test, and this gave me bluescreens with irq_not_less_or_equal to bluscreens messages with ntfs.sys. after that i reinstalled the driver and gxm to get rid of that bluescreens. i am lucky that my computer is working almost normally again.

the onboard 780a is off. i did not try to reinstall eve. maybe ill do this as next step.

i wrote ccp a petiton, but maybe someone got some advise.

...You have 3 monitors, 5 hard drives, and your GPU temp on another game is 70*C?

First, figure off if it's actually the monitors shutting off. Because if it is, you should be able to turn them straight back on. (Hint: Power button).

What you're describing (need a reboot to fix) sounds to me like overheating, especially since you just said you measured your graphics card at 70 degrees Celsius from another game...

the monitors scan for incoming "analog / digital" signal. its a box in the upper left corner, after 20 sec of no signal, the go completly black. switching them on and off does not make any difference. they just try to get a signal and then they go black again.

70°C would be a normal temp, in idle the card is about 60-65, and the data sheet says about 85°C possible. btw 5 case fans, 1 12cm in 1 8cm, 2 5-1/4" in and 1 14cm out plus output of the card itself.

reboot is the only fix, because even with alt+f4, or ctrl#alt#del or alt enter i dont get onto my desktop. so i just can restart the computer, and when then logging in to eve, it mostly happens again. so several tries will let me into eve again...

i did now play 4 hours of lotro, which is more stress to the card than eve, so i dont believe in overheating anymore, i guess there is something in the eve client. hum, hope there will be a fix, otherwise ill wont forward my subscription, and it just made really fun to play at the moment :(

So what you really meant is that the signal goes out, not that the monitors go off. That makes more sense.

70°C, even for a "normal temp," is quite high. You have five case fans and it's idling at above 60? Even if overheating isn't the core issue, I highly suggest that you take a look at your airflow. I have six fans and even on stress tests my card never breaks 60.

So I'm guessing this is the only game in which this happens from what you've been saying.

To test (again) if it's overheating, run a stress test using something like ATI tool for a while.

Power issue?

I remember not long ago we had someone who had similar issues. I think it is the latest big thread in tech support section.

well it happens with Lotro now, even when BOOTING, sometimes on Desktop. I am more and more thinking this is something about the triplehead.

Ok ill will try that.

Another issue i found out, i am having these trouble even without triplehead now. but to be sure, ill check the led of the triplehead to that error.

i am circling the failure to one of my monitors, or its cable. i did try to plug it yesterday with a 2nd directly to the card, and i did not get any reaction beneath searching for signals of both. after unpluggig the one i am looking now, and plugging in 2nd and 3rd i can boot. my next step will be plugging this one alone on this computer and my 2nd. its cable is brandnew, i checked the pins of both sides. i got the old single dvi cable of all monitors, which i will check next. after that the triplehead with monitor 2 and 3...

i guess no 1 is so old, he wanna get retired... its the 226bw, who is not able to show 1680*1050 @ 57hz alone. maybe it got forced by triplehead to do so, and therefor he got damaged...

i would now recommend to push this post into the hardware forums and giving it a different title. eve was only the beginning.

when i tried all out with no change ill try it with a new 226cw, and if its not the problem i dont know how to go on, but my gf will be happy now having a 16:10....

ill report what ill find out.

And there is the answer,

i have to sent my TH2GO back to Ireland (RMA Europe)

Its a hardware failure, the unit looses power for a second and switches off. then all screens go back.

To find that out i changes the case (i decided to get everything inside more cool, so i changed the thermaltake with an antec 900) and wrote many emails. Very cool was my call with Matrox USA, where they decided to have a look via remote. During this remote session the error happened.

I am really glad now to know what it is, and i am impressed by matrox support :)

Hopefully my new TH2Go will be back again fast :)

Thanx for all your advice, it made me help in making decisions!
