the monitors scan for incoming "analog / digital" signal. its a box in the upper left corner, after 20 sec of no signal, the go completly black. switching them on and off does not make any difference. they just try to get a signal and then they go black again.
70°C would be a normal temp, in idle the card is about 60-65, and the data sheet says about 85°C possible. btw 5 case fans, 1 12cm in 1 8cm, 2 5-1/4" in and 1 14cm out plus output of the card itself.
reboot is the only fix, because even with alt+f4, or ctrl#alt#del or alt enter i dont get onto my desktop. so i just can restart the computer, and when then logging in to eve, it mostly happens again. so several tries will let me into eve again...
i did now play 4 hours of lotro, which is more stress to the card than eve, so i dont believe in overheating anymore, i guess there is something in the eve client. hum, hope there will be a fix, otherwise ill wont forward my subscription, and it just made really fun to play at the moment :(
So what you really meant is that the signal goes out, not that the monitors go off. That makes more sense.
70°C, even for a "normal temp," is quite high. You have five case fans and it's idling at above 60? Even if overheating isn't the core issue, I highly suggest that you take a look at your airflow. I have six fans and even on stress tests my card never breaks 60.
So I'm guessing this is the only game in which this happens from what you've been saying.
To test (again) if it's overheating, run a stress test using something like ATI tool for a while.
