The 10.0.0.62 patch is out and among other things it fixes the leader heads in Eyefinity mode. If you previous modified your ini file you'll need to change it back to 16:9 settings.

It's not documented but it also changes the zoom limitations in/out in game. While I rarely needed to zoom in as far as I could before, and it is nice to be able to zoom out further upon occasion, I really liked the in game FOV better before this patch (less stretching on the sides). Here's hoping we are allowed to tweak things to our liking with a future patch.

Any news or updates on this? I have asked on Civilization forums, but get no response. I am assuming there just aren't that many eyefinity users.

As is, I find the game unplayable.

With the FOV as it is, the side monitors are horribly distorted on the map, being stretched and slanted at 5760x1200.

The HUD menus are also on the extreme edges of the left and right monitor, creating a nighmare trying to scroll. Ditto on "walking" the camera across the map, which requires the cursor to travel to the completely left monitor and right monitor edges which wouldn't be so bad if the video on those monitors wasn't distorted.

:(

I get pretty consistent crashes to the desktop when I play in eyefinity mode (tried windowed and fullscreen). I do not have that problem running at 1920x1080 windowed or fullscreen.

I have 3 x GTX580's and an i7.

The Gods and Kings patched game runs fine IN DX11to start with, the videos are centered and work fine, the interface is around the edge, but you can live with it...

BUT, as soon as you zoom out all the way once you have more than 20 units... BLAM - crashdead.

Repeatable error. I think its the game, not the video interface. Just eats too much memory looking at all those hexes or sumfing.

In DX9 the whole thing is just borked, as an earlier post said. The screen just goes bananas and gives you epilepsy.

This game looks sooo good on 3 screens for the brief time that it works.

I suppose you could play it through if you disabled your zoom in/out wheel on your mouse and just played mostly zoomed in.

I can have more than 20 units on my screen, it only crashes when I zoom all the way out as far as I can, then it crashes. Unsure why, it never used to do this, only since I moved to 301.42. Not sure if the driver update just coincided with a game update though.

Before updates about a year ago I could play in 3d surround @5100 x 900 with i5 2500k and 2x gtx570's and get about 15fps when fully zoomed and most settings maxed. Most of settings wouldn't help fps but at normal zoom i'd get about 45fps so that was all good. and it never crashed!! not even on my old pentium4!
But then the update happened. When i'd go to zoom out (even on a fresh game) it would last about 5 secconds before freezing and the only to get out was ctrl alt delete, start task manager and hit 'close program' in the error window titled 'civ v has stopped working'.
Now ive upgraded to i73820 and 3x gtx670's and performance is the same and freezing problem remains.
I've got the gods and kings expansion and that doesn't help either. I haven't tried to roll back to a previous version and the problem could actually be caused by nvidia driver updates.
Really dissapointing because the game ran so well before and now it is unplayable.
If anyone is playing this game in surround and having success i'd sure like to know!!
Also what happened to the detailed reports for so many games on WSGF that I used to look at? It seems they have just dissapeared!

I have played Civ5 for about 2 years on a 3x23"P res of 3240x1920.
No errors at all.

Can it be the eyefinity instead of the nvidia Surround?
Or maybe the Portrait instead of the Landscape?
Xfire and SLI are a no go i understand.

Eitherway it rocks on more then 6M pixels.

The game ran fine on multiple monitors for me, forget about staying connected to a friend in multiplayer though.
