Hey all, I've installed the C&C3 demo, and I read somewhere that there is native support for widescreen modes, but when I go into the options menu the highest resolution I can go is 1600x1200.

I am running my system on the TH2G, but would that matter? I tried looking for a config file somewhere, but didn't come across anything.

Any ideas? Or has EA screwed the pooch again and left us without proper high res support?

cheers

I have heard also that it was native, i hope that EA supports it correctly. With your problem i don't know a solution...

The good side of this is that it is only a demo so therer are still bugs what EA have to get fixed.

The res. is set in the game.ini in the c & c directory.

Hmm...my C&C3 Demo directory doesn't have this file. Could it be located somewhere else on my system?

I've checked in the My Docs folder(s) and there's nothing there either.

Thanks for the help.

I don't know what the old Tiberian Sun game was, but Tiberian Wars is coming out this month from EA :

http://www.ea.com/commandandconquer/

Here's the details on the demo up on FilePlanet :

http://www.fileplanet.com/174572/170000/fileinfo/Command-&-Conquer-3:-Tiberium-Wars-Demo-%5BFilePlanet-Exclusive%5D

Good news! It's just a shortcut parameter to include non-native resolutions, as posted by Apple here in the forum a couple days ago :

http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/7443

It works pretty good! The menus are normal, and the HUD is displayed in proper size as I tested the demo out @ 3840x1024.

I'll have to see if I can grab some screenshots and post them.

Everything plays really well, the only thing is that I have a feeling the widescreen res is cropped, as I had a sense that I was "too close" to the action. Wish tihs game had the zoom capabilities that Supreme Commander does. Now THATS a great game for the surround screens!

cheers

tried it on 3840x1024 and 3840x768... it's strongly cropped! I also tried a two screen configuration, it's better... but I think I'll be playing this game minus TH2G just on the centre screen
