I second DF's post. When I read yours I tried 5040 in 2142 but it just crashed. Are you saying in beta1.5 we have full hor+ at all res? that would be great! I installed the beta and played a bit but rolled back to play with my clan (not enough servers) but never even thought of trying TH res. esp when they said that WS support is not supported in the Beta but will in the full.

For me at least, in Beta 1.5 for BF2 it crashes constantly, but when I did get to play (in singleplayer) it was still Vert-, it just had the resolutions listed.

Battlefield 2142 with the 1.5 patch doesn't list the resolutions, but the FOV DOES increase. So if you play in a TH resolution, you will have the correct field of view.

Problem is that, as seen with Dopefish's hack in BF2, objects start disappearing like crazy. If you check my screenshots in the thread asking for triplehead screenshots to add to the DR, you'll see that in my TH screenshot no movable objects (vehicles, soldier) and some immovable objects (the building I was standing in) tend to disappear...

For 2142, just use the launch options.

I tried 2142 yesterday. I had to completely delete my config folder (in My Documents) to get it to launch on patch 1.5. Using the command line options it will start in 5040 res (as it always did). The menus were almost unusable (text on top of text) and the game itself has a completely messed up FOV, so much so you cant even see the weapon you are carrying.

I also couldnt see other player models and stuff randomly disappeared.
It would appear that patch 1.5 did nothing at all for Triplehead.

Yeah. The engine stops drawing objects at a certain distance/angle (culling) to make the engine run better. When they set up this engine, they just didn't design it with such wide aspect-ratios in mind.

Someone had mentioned previously that two monitors works fine, so you might want to play with some windowed resolutions to see if you can get anything acceptable.
