Hi,

I managed to change the resolution by changing the .SystemPostal2.ini , but it's cropping vertical instead of enlarging horizontal, which isn't very playable.

does anyone have an idea how to change that?

thanks!

I don't do surround. Sorry. :(

But...

You can change the FOV in the user.ini file in the same directory. It is an Unreal 2.0 engine game so I am not sure if a fov over 100 will stick.

Good luck.

EDIT-Each game in the Fudge Pack uses a different directory so you need to look around depending on what game you are playing.

Did you try it? Changing the FOV is what gets rid of the Vert - in the normal widescreen resolutions.

Can a surrounder please enlighten me? :D

Sakatei is correct ... Changing the FOV should remove the Vert -

8)

I can't remember exactly but I did get Postal 2 going in TripleHead with the correct FOV ... no vert- ... but the HUD elements were quite large.
Dunno if it will be the same for the 2Fudge Pack" ... whatever that is.

Who does not know what a fudge pack is? 8)

It is the original postal and expansion along with postal 2 and expansion. There are also two postal 2 mods that are popular.

no, he isn't.

fov get's you more horizontal scope, true, but do not get to see whats cropped due to the vert- .

you basically get a triple zoom ... and thats unplayable if you're inside buildings.

Are you increasing the FOV? This will get you the Vert - that you are missing. The game engine may have a max FOV limit however.

Game root/system

"Main Postal Game name.ini"

Example Postal2.ini

FullscreenViewportX=****
FullscreenViewportY=****

User.ini

DesiredFOV=85.000000
DefaultFOV=85.000000

For 16:10 I use the FOVCalc with the value 85 and get 95.4370607151, my new FOV values.

1600x1200

1920x1200 FOV 85

1920x1200 FOV 95.4370607151

Hor +.

Layman def.

Vert - games get that way because the game engine is using the same Hor distance for screen displays. Because the widescreen resolution is wider the game zooms in to return to that point. This is where you lose Vert viewing area.

By increasing the FOV we return the game to the original zoom level. This removes any Vert loss. However, since we have a wider resolution we also get Hor +.
