Seriously now after I've been playing loooots of WoW in Widescreen I really dont understand what you are annoyed with. I didn't notice anything annoying at all when I started playing WoW with my new screen, only the beautiful and sharp colors with my lubly 205BW :D .

No problems in instances either! The FOV is perfect without changing anything, and to zoom out like you do is just scary, you want to see your char close. :s

I'm sure you mean it well, but you are not helping at all by just shrugging of the very real problem here.

I don't like repeating myself, but there are undebatable facts here, and those are that indeed the image is cut off vertically, the more the wider resolutions you use, and that there is no solution for the cutaway than to run a 4:3 resolution. If it doesn't bother you, I really don't care. We have proven in this thread that the problem is real and that many are indeed bothered by it.

Enjoy a REALLY far out zoom:

open the config.wtf file located in the WTF folder.

Find the entries for cameraDistance and replace them with
Code:
SET cameraDistanceA "50.000000"
   SET cameraDistanceB "100.000000"
   SET cameraDistanceC "200"
   SET cameraDistanceD "300"

Now start the game, enter the options menu and edit the hotkeys.
Somewhere are the entries for recalling predefined camera settings.
Assign them the keys you can easily reach and try them out.
