This is a post I made on the AMD forums and I am reposting it here to try and get the most input on this particular problem.

This is a game specific problem that leads me to believe it is a deeper issue. This is a rather long post and prehaps it should go in the Eyefinity forum section but it was a specific game that brought it up.

I am trying to figure out why I get no HUD centering or Eyefinity detection from Deus Ex Human Revolution and I'm starting to think that the problem may be deeper than just the game. The lastest patch for Deus Ex Human Revolution stated that is fixed the lack of HUD centering for Eyefinity users, but I still have no HUD centering or Eyefinity detection for the game despite having used Eyefinity for over a year now and thinking that my Eyefinity setup is fine.

However in trying to figure out why I am still experiencing this problem a helpful poster in my Steam thread about the problem gave me some insight into what may be soem problems with my Eyefinity setup.

http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2125704

The Steam thread eventually lead me to this thread and specifically the last page concerning improper Eyefinity detection.

http://community.codemasters.com/forum/dirt-3-tech-support-1414/466792-eyefinity-3x1-stretching-image-3.html

Now I am wondering if I am doing something wrong in setting up the Eyefinity display and grouping and such. In the thread the discussion is about duplicating the desktop across all three monitors and the actual Eyefinity being incorrectly recognized.

Upon a fresh install of the current 11.8 drivers my setup in CCC and Windows look like the following:

After this I would always create my Eyefinity 3x1 group and then apply bezel adjustment to get a resolution of 6048x1080 and I always assumed it was working fine.

This is what things look like after creating the Eyefinity group:

But based on the Codemasters thread and the fact that I get no HUD centering or Eyefinity detection in Deus Ex Human Revolution I think I am doing something wrong and thus I get the extended resolution detection and it says 'Eyefinity Group' in the CCC but something is not detecting right. The Codemasters thread talked about duplicating the destktop across all monitors but I do not see that option available anywhere when setting up the monitor grouping. Also the third monitor does not appear to show up in the Windows display settings before or after creating the Eyefinity group.

Anyone out there who has a clue about this and can give me any more insight or help? I have a feeling I am doing something wrong but after assuming I was doing it correctly for so long I am not sure what I need to do differently. I use a Powercolor 5970 card and three Acer H243H monitors for my Eyefinity setup and am currently running the 11.8 drivers w/CAP4.

Well this whole thread is for naught because I have determined that the desktop is registering Eyefinity correctly. So Deus Ex Human Revolution still won't center the HUD correctly for my Eyefinity setup or detect the Eyefinity via ingame or external setup.

Some Eyefinity users with Crossfire mentioned that the HUD would not center with Crossfire enabled, HUD would center with Crossfire disabled. I am becoming more and more convinced that this is some very specific issue with the 5970 dual gpu and built in Crossfire on the card in relation to the game. I can't think of anything else that would be causing this, especially after the most recent patch was supposed to fix this.

Anyone have any ideas or anything about this?

I think it is due to the dual GPU of the 5970 causing your problem. If I run the game in 3x1 Eyefinity with just one of my HD 6870s enabled, the HUD is centered. If I use CFX, the HUD gets sent to the extremes of the outside displays.

LOL...this is the very thing I have been thinking and mentioning on other forums all along and my viewpoint was disputed repeatedly. Thank you for posting and reaffirming my suspicions. Looks like a Crossfire issue that the devs did not fix. Hopefully soon but we'll see.

I used dual 6970 in CF and I was getting centered HUD. I used a single 5970 (although in the default mode, which is CF enabled probably, not sure how that works for single dual GPU cards) and didn't get HUD centered.

(Everything else was the same other than the video cards)

Sorry for bring back such an old post. But I discovered something over the weekend that appears to be at least one solution to this (and possibly other Eyefinity / Crossfire issues.)

It may be common knowledge, but it didn't come up on any of my searched relating to this issue with this game so...

While Eyefinity & Crossfire will activate no matter which of your graphics cards your plugged into. The Eyefinity detection only works for one of them!

So this fix is simply to swap your plugs to the other card and try again.
