Hi - I'm new to this forum and came for some help cause I have no where else to turn.

I have a racing simulator rig right next to my computer.

I recently purchased a Hawk 5770 graphics card which supports Eyefinity.

I have three monitors connected to it. My 24" LCD main computer display that sits on my computer desk. A 32" LCD that's connected to my racing simulator. And a 7" LCD attached to the side of the steering wheel on the racing simulator.

I was hoping to have the 7" monitor be a permanent view of the "rear-view" in my racing game "dirt 3". I have seen this done before somewhere on Youtube. A guy was sitting in his racing simulator and had a big screen in front of him while he was playing a racing game. He then had a smaller monitor attached on the wall behind him which showed what was behind him in the racing game. This monitor behind him was permanently set on this view.

I have tried using the Catalyst Control Center and messing around with Eyefinity settings and other things. I've tried going into the game and played around with the settings in there. I have had no luck. I don't know how to proceed. I have tried asking my friends who know more than I do and they say it can't be done. However I have seen it...so I know it can be done.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Jeff

You could construct something like this with SoftTH. In Dirt 3 you would have to try to set the little screen on the coordinates of the rear-view-mirror. In Simulations like rFactor there might be an Option to use a dedicated part of the renderarea for the rear-view which can then be set up as the area displayed by the little screen.

An SoftTH configuration for Dirt3 would look some way like this:
[main]
renderResolution=1680x1050
nonlocalFormat=RGB16D
keepComposition=0
smoothing=1
debugD3D=0
zClear=0
vsync=0
tripleBuffer=0
screenshotFormat=jpg
dllPathD3D9=auto
dllPathDXGI=auto
dllPathD3D11=auto

[head_primary]
sourceRect=0,0,1680,1050
screenMode=1680x1050

[head_1]
devID=2
sourceRect=600,200,400,200
transportResolution=400x200
transportMethod=local
noSync=0
fpsLimit=0
