hi

i'm using the matrox tripleheadtogo and i can't get it to work on a single monitor. in triplehead mode it looks fine, but i get only 20 frames. when i change the resolution to a single monitor one, it keeps the aspect ratio of the triplehead. i post some screens.

5040x1050:

1680x1050:

Screenshots on 3 monitors?

Also how can the HUD be stretched, I thought this game has no HUD?

Go to the first page of the topic and the last post.. you shall find the answer there. The game sets you up with a 3 screen setup and you have to edit the .cfg file to return it to a normal 1 screen solution. Of note make sure to read page 2 as it also covers there is more than 1 .cfg file and you need to make sure they are all the same or it wont work.

More info about the patch :

4A has announced the widescreen fix for Metro 2033 is due later today.

A recent tweet states that the patch, which will implement full widescreen support for the post-apocalyptic shooter, will be released today over Steam.

“PC players - a fix for the 'Black Screen' and Widescreen Support issues is coming via Steam later today.”

I think it have to do with the 3D engine.

I had this problem with Stalkers. even though Metro does not use the Xray engine like Stalker, Metro is a new engine built grounds up from the same guys that did stalker. so I'm sure they reuse SOME of the older codes..

To fix it. set it to Windowed (not full screen). and then from there just set it back to fullscreen.

the next time u run the game it should be fine.

On a single screen I can have everything maxed at 1920x1080... except for tessellation. Of the things I could actually change (80% aren't toggleable, wtf), tessellation was the biggest hit to FPS. At 5760x1080 however, I had to literally set everything to "normal" in dx9 mode to get playable frames. I'll have to look at the config files more to see which ones I can toggle in there. Also, yea the mouse is crazy... horizontal sensitivity is borked to hell. Sigh. Maybe I'll just play this game on one monitor with all the eye candy.

i tried that already. as in my picture post you see i have set a singe monitor resolution and it keeps for that the aspect ratio of 12:3.

to switch to windowed mode and back you have to edit the user.cfg (both), ingame is no option to make it fullscreen oder windowed. if i do so the game starts with the right aspect ratio but is stuck to the left screen, cant move the window and it runes like crap. it has really to do with the engine, i think it detects the native resolution of your monitor and changes the aspect ratio for this monitor. my triplehead has the native resolution of 5040x1050 so it set the aspect ratio to 12:3 no matter which resolution i take. if i play it on my 24" monitor thats over my triplehead it runs fine, but i get a pain in the neck of looking up all the time xD
