The Matrox site says max resolution of 3840x1024 with 5850.
Is this true?
Was hopping to buy 23/24" monitor for 5780x1080.

It's as said, the real question is what aren't you just going to use eyefinity?

Not sure with the 5850, but make sure you have powerdesk installed (The matrox software) so that you have access to all resolutions, also 1920x1080x3 runs at 50Hz so maybe your screens are not compatible.

Assuming you have the dvi digital edition, check the specs tab for all supported res

EDIT: Im not really sure the DVI version will work like this, I would recommend the Digital SE (DP input with 3xDVI out or the DP edition) or try a Mview module for DVI output (I have not tried it YET but it looks promising)

Its better than matrox because it can do 1680x1050x3 @ 60Hz as opposed to 57 or 58Hz

I haven't bought the screens yet. Was trying to see why it says the 5850 only does 3840x1024 in the system compatiblity.
Other slower card do 5780x1080 on their list.

Good find mate :onethumb:
Yeah my 7970 tri-fire setup will still be limited to 1360x768
Im assuming you already have the matrox unit? If not DONT BUY IT, get mview instead.
You can email those guys and they will get back to you.
Looks like you are stuck at 1280x1024x3....

PS: I wish i found out about mview before i burned my cash on matrox....

Where can i get mview from in the UK? How much?
I aready bought the TH2Go digital off ebay. £75
I can resell it though.

Found this on an other forum. Don't know what card though.
"Have a quick check in Device Manager, expand Monitors and it should read Matroxtriplehead2go digital edition. If not, it may read generic plug and play, Win 7 sometimes does this.If it is p/p, Do a manual 'update driver' for the monitor and select 'have disk', Browse to the following path: C:\Program Files\Matrox Graphics Inc\PowerDesk SE\ and select GXM.inf tick 'include subfolders' etc. Also check you have refresh rate set at 60(input59)hz and not 57hz. there was no 50hz option.Running mine at 5760x1080 and 60(input59)hz with no problems. 3x 24" Samsung monitors.Ron. Definitely play around with your matrox unit first, see if you can find any joy out of it.
Im assuming powerdesk has not helped? (Even with powerdesk my 7970 has max 1360x768x3, now i know why!)
The mview unit i am going to get for myself is the MV103-HDVE Pro
http://www.mviewtech.com/listen.asp?ProdId=111025101735
(for my 3x7970s running a 3x3 video wall, i have 22" Dell LCDs atm but will upgrade later to 32" or 40" TVs) because i already have 2x TH2G Digital SE (dp in with 3x DVI out) and my TH2G digital Edition (DVI in) wont work with powerdesk (So im locked in @ 1280x1024 max).
The price is about $275 US inc. shipping but may vary for you (Im in Australia). Here is the link:

If you have questions about compatibility, etc... you can message them on their site and they will respond (I was impressed) or PM them here on the forums, here is a link to one of their posts:

PLEASE NOTE i have not actually purchase one yet but like I said after burning coin on matrox (Thanks for showing me the compatibility guide, I seem to keep learning the hard and expensive way!) the mview boxes seem MUCH better, the Pro versions have cascade functions (multiple boxes stacked on eachother, checkout the diagram tab!), 1680x1050x3 @ 60Hz is supported and are slightly cheaper than matrox. I would have bought these instead if I knew about them at the time.
