Hopefully somebody can help me here. I have a rampage III, 980x, 12 gigs of corsair 2000 DDR3, two Sapphire Toxic 5870 2gb cards, three dell U2410 monitors and two Mitsubishi HC3800 projectors.
Ideally, I would like to have two eyefinity groups on one computer: The three Dell U2410s at 6048x1200 and the two HC3800s at 3840x1080.
However, it seems that you can only have one eyefinity group enabled at a time. I have the three dells on the primary 5870 and the two HC3800s on the second 5870. When I try to create an eyefinity group with the HC3800s it disables my U2410 group and vice versa.
I don't really care if I can only use one group at a time, however, I can not get any kind of stability with the HC3800 group on the second card. When I make the HC3800 (screen 4) the primary and group it with the other HC3800 (screen 5) every game crashes rather quickly, and some games will not even start. So using a two card solution here is absolutely terrible!
I am trying to come up with a solution where I can enjoy eyefinity on my dells or on my HC3800s without having to sell both of my Sapphire Toxic 5870s and pickup one eyefinity 6 card instead. If I got the eyefinity 6 card I would have to go thru the expensive hassle of selling my 5870 Toxics and then buying more display port cables and costly display port to HDMI adapters, which I do not want to do.
I figure I could run everyting on one 5870 if I could get two DVI switcher boxes and run two of my Dell U2410s on setting "A" and both of my HC3800s, on setting "B." Basically, the middle U2410 would be connected by display port and the side U2410s would be connected via the DVI splitter on setting "A." When I want to play eyefinity with the projectors I could simply "switch," both of the DVI splitter boxes to "B" which would disable my side U2410s and enable both of my HC3800s, then I could go into CCC and create my eyefinity group. The problem is, I don't think the splitter box that I am thinking of exists for one DVI input and two DVI outputs! I have found 1 in 2 out DVI splitter boxes, but none of them allow you to disable DVI out "A" while you use DVI out "B." All the splitter boxes that I have found only allow out "A" & "B" to function at the same time and I DO NOT WANT THAT!
DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR??
Thanks!
