So I build a new rig, with the intention of selling the old one, however I've run in to some problems getting triplehead to display on all three Dell 2209WA monitors. When I run the Matrox setup program and get to choose display resolutions across the triplehead, I'm only able to select 1680x1050@60Hz. As opposed to the @57Hz which was previously possible on the old desktop at 1680x1050@57Hz. If I go with the 60Hz option, then the setup program will error out after it's initial reboot, with the usual "windows error" and display/resolutions doesn't change. I've tried testing a custom resolution of 1680x1050@57Hz and a single monitor tests out fine, but I'm not able to select this custom resolution to run at? It's not available in the list of resolutions via the Nvidia control panel or via windows it self, even after saving it. I've also tried making a custom resolution via the Nvidia control panel, as per one of the posts here on this board for 5040x1050, but I can not select a Hz lower then 58? Range is 58-60 via the Nvidia Control Panel. At this point, I'm running out of ideas, aside of trying an older driver from the 180 series. I'd like to refrain from using 191 series as that's what killed the 280GTX in the previous desktop. So any other ideas are welcome. Very few people have had any luck with drivers newer than 182.50. I know you want to try and avoid this, but in the end you may have no choice until we get some new compatible drivers (if that ever happens). |

I had the same prob. My solution: (how it works for me) I uninstalled the previous driver. After reboot i ran DriverSweeper. After reboot I installed the 195.55 beta. After reboot I ran the the Powerdesk wizard and choosed 1440x900x3@60Hz. (again) After reboot PD is setting it up, I set my wished resolution in PowerDesk. In my case its 1680x1050x3@59Hz. Clicked the apply button and everything went fine. Hope you´ll get success with this... Tobi P.S. Its the actual firmware and PowerDesk from the Matrox HP |

Unfortunately didn't work either Mero, 1440x900 would not take effect either. EDIT: I can get 182.50 to work, granted it blackscreens on all three monitors when it applies 1680x1050, but rebooting and I get 5040x1050 across all monitors. Actually 195.55 also blackscreens when applying 1680x1050 on a single monitor. But I can't get 195.55 to work at all across three monitors, mind you it worked just fine on the 280GTX. Getting really tired of the piss poor Matrox software. Triple monitors + digital box is feeling more and more as a waste of money. |
