So one day after a driver update I couldn't select 3840x1024 as my monitor resolution anymore. It only goes up to 2400x600.

I can't tell if that's just my Th2Go broken or what (I ran driver cleaner and cleaned out the drivers and installed an older known working version). Also until I updated my drivers it was working just fine so :roll:. I also would rather not install a clean OS.

If anyone here is using 3840x1024 I would really appreciate it if you could go get PowerStrip and save the advanced timing informations and copy and paste it back here. That way I could use it to 'force' the resolution (and if my Th2go itself isn't bust it should work I'm thinking).

Otherwise I'm at a loss.. a lot of great games are coming out soon and I won't be upgrading to EyeFinity for a while so I neeeeeed my 3840x1024 back :(.

UPDATE: FIXED
Ok I had to get the Analog TH2go powerstrip settings myself from another PC since they're different from the Digital TH2go settings.

I also went back to Catalyst 9.6 and it works now. Using Vista 32-bit. I would imagine using GeneralAdmission's settings will work for those on Digital TH2go if need be.

So I haven't used powerstrip before. Is this what you need?

Code:
PowerStrip timing parameters:
   3840x1024=3840,16,16,104,1024,1,7,34,254296,512

   Generic timing details for 3840x1024:
   HFP=16 HSW=16 HBP=104 kHz=64 VFP=1 VSW=7 VBP=34 Hz=60

   VESA detailed timing:
   PClk=254.30 H.Active=3840 H.Blank=136 H.Offset=0 HSW=16 V.Active=1024 V.Blank=42 V.Offset=1 VSW=7

   Linux modeline parameters:
   "3840x1024" 254.296 3840 3856 3872 3976 1024 1025 1032 1066 +hsync +vsync

Yep, looks like it.. is that from a TH2Go Analog or TH2Go Digital? I need the Analog TH2Go numbers, argh.

I actually reverse engineered virtually the same #s from an xorg.conf post (took me a while to realize xorg.conf is just the powerstrip values but added to the resolutions).

But anyway my 3rd monitor (yeah I am lame and have 3 different monitors) won't display the picture.. the other two display it but with like 200 of the bottom pixels not displaying.

Guys you think this means my TH2go is bust? Or should I bother trying to hook this up to another computer.

Well anyway, a promise is a promise, PM me with your Steam name so I can add you to friends and gift you the game :).

Ahhhh, yeah, I have the Digital TH2Go. Sorry about that.

Do you have a laptop or other computer in the house? I'd say it's worth it to try a different machine, as that will eliminate a number of variables.

I'd have a hard time believing that your TH2Go just happened to go bad (hardware-wise) right after a driver update. Possible, yes, but rather coincidental. Just realized I need to clarify something: was it a TH2Go driver update or vid card driver update?

You don't have to send me the games yet. I'd like to try to help a bit more, first. :) If you want another friend anyway, though, you can find my Steam name, GeneralAdmission, in the WSGF Steam group. (actually I was hoping to re-gift EP1 to my brother anyway so that might need different arrangements).

Yeah, I have a pretty old computer with an Nvidia 6800 GT in there, I guess I'll hook it up to that and see if it works.

Tried the settings from
http://www.openscenegraph.org/projects/osg/wiki/Support/KnowledgeBase/TripleHead2Go also and it was just displaying a really squished image to only my middle monitor :roll:.

I do agree it's really fishy it only broke after a driver upgrade since a few hours previous to that I was playing BattleForge in 3840x1024 glory.

Yep.. but apparently the ATI drivers didn't fully get uninstalled.

PowerStrip timing parameters:
3840x1024=3840,32,16,88,1024,1,6,35,255000,2048

Generic timing details for 3840x1024:
HFP=32 HSW=16 HBP=88 kHz=64 VFP=1 VSW=6 VBP=35 Hz=60

VESA detailed timing:
PClk=255.00 H.Active=3840 H.Blank=136 H.Offset=16 HSW=16 V.Active=1024 V.Blank=42 V.Offset=1 VSW=6

Linux modeline parameters:
"3840x1024" 255.000 3840 3872 3888 3976 1024 1025 1031 1066 +hsync +vsync

So I plugged in my Analog TH2go into my other computer, it let me pick 3840x1024 even without installing any PowerDesk. I picked it, worked great, went into PowerStrip and copied the timings. Pasted them into my other computer, worked right off the bat. Will test it in games and see if it doesn't disappear after reboots.

Whatever happened to the community of helping? Does nobody here have an Analog Th2Go anymore? I find that hard to believe.

Glad to hear it's working. Hopefully it sticks. ;)

I was going to suggest a file-by-file search of everything installed by the driver package, which of course is about the most fun thing anyone could ever do on planet Earth. :lol:
