Wow you're willing to spend that much for a minor upgrade. Your current set up is not bad at all.

im wanting to get a bigger picture. just dont know what to do.
looking @ the dell 22 inch x3 or the dell Dell 24" E248WFP x3.
what would ppl do here go for the 22 inch or 24 inch. the thing is running lower res on 24 inch monitors would it make games look a bit shabby compared to native 22 inch. please help before i buy.

IMHO I would stick with 3x22" monitors as they will natively be 1680x1050 each. 24" monitors are nice but in a triple head config your max resolution is limited to 5040x1050 and will look less clear as the native res for 24" monitors is higher 1920x1200.

As well depending if you want to mount them on an arm, 24"s usually don't fit on most 3 monitor mount solutions like the ergotron lx lift mount.

3x24 is better than 3x22 IMO. You get used to/don't notice the non optimum res but you still get the 1920x1200 when gaming on games that don't use TH.

However I certainly wouldn't buy tri SLI, just get 2x285s (I can game everything with my 2x280s at max apart from Crysis/GTA4) and you'll still have enough for you laptop maybe?

If you buy all three monitors the same then you don't reallly need a monitor arm, as long as they have decent stands.

3xWS is a BIG step up from 3x19 and is worth it. Whether ou go 24 or 22 is up to you, but if you can afford it? Go 24 IMO, Maybe one day we will have a Display Port based TH2Go and can go 3x1920x1200 ;)

definitely 2x285, more mem bandwidth and some games loose out on Tri SLI. I used to have tri sli 8800GTX and gtx280 but it is just not worth it. SLI (esp tri) is only as good as the profile in the driver

http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3518

mainly about the older cards but it still applies, 3 way is not really worth it.

seriously tri sli just sounds cool and costs alot lol!

it's completely useless in 90% of games

prob get maybe 10% extra performance on top of the sli cards.

sli 285 will give u plently of speed
