Ok, this is REALLY p***ing me off now. I just attempted to run Spore. It says it cannot run in SLI on my current drivers because there are new drivers available.

I can't upgrade to new drivers without losing my 5040x1050.

I am going to contact Matrox tech support and if they cannot get me up and running on the newest drivers, I'm selling the TH2Go.

I won't really blame Matrox. It's has more to do with the Spore game since pretty much all my games work with SLI (if not it will at least run without SLI advantage). blame spore if anything.

I get the same problem too. even with older driver it said u can't run in SLI mode.

you can easilly disable SLI mode for that specfic game using the Nvdia control panel. (it takes like less than 10 seconds)

besides it's not like spore is a great game anyway. and the gfx is not very demanding so even with no sli u can probably get good performance out of it.

I personally never tried spore in th2g since prior to that I tried the game and kinda lost interste in it.

Dear All

I tried to install the new GMX suite (after installing the 180.48 drivers).... on last reboot as soon as it will try to set the new resolution i get a mode not supported error message on my screens and they go black.
My system
Vista Ultimate 32bit SP1
intel extrem Q6850
4 GB Ram
2 x Geforce 8800 Ultra
3 x Dell 22'' screens
I could run the resolutions on the 175.19 driver with the old GMX.
thx for your helps

I know I can disable SLI. That is not the point. The point is, that the 180 drivers improve my 260gtx performance and I can't install them because Matrox can't seem to develop a DRIVER for their hardware that works correctly.

Tonight, i'm going to try the new NVIDIA drivers with multimonitor support and plug all 3 monitors into my 260's. I know that the two side monitors will shut off when I start a game in SLI mode, but I'm tired of messing with this piece of smurf product. If the multimonitor support works, the matrox is going up on Ebay. I'm sorry I ever recommended product this to anyone.

With my ATI Radeon 4870 the best I can do is 1440x900x3. It just won't give me the option to go higher, but I'm sure that's nothing new.

Ive been running 180 series + TH2G for months. My girlfriend set up her's manually (custom resolutions) too. She can play Spore on TH2G with 260s in SLI anytime she wants.

So why do you think you have all these problems when its possible to install newer nV drivers before the newest Matrox driver even came out if you just attempt it in a logic and thought out process, as opposed throwing your toys quite literally out of the pram?

Matt, I've read your thread and I appreciate the effort you've put into helping us with this problem. I understand that both you and your girlfriend have it working, but have you seen the responses from the other people who don't? Only one other person has gotten it to work and even then they are having problems. My complaint is that I should not have to jump through hoops, 17 reboots, restore points, uninstall x17, reinstall x 17, just to get the product to work. My frustration is the lack of support by Matrox. How would you feel, if you called your bank to check your balance on your 401k and they said, "we don't know, check the internet".

Sorry, maybe I jumped the gun, I assumed you were just giving up without really even trying and that clearly isnt the case.

I can agree Matrox's silence and downright avoidence is indeed misplaced and annoying. I emailed them too to try to get them in touch with Entech on the ATI support thing and they blanked me.

I think its inaccurate to say only one person got the custom res'es to work though, from my understanding only one person didnt get them to work (scavvenjahh), the reasons why were never really determined. However in that case the new GXM worked (as its meant to).

The other problems (that I saw) was the old GXM removing the new custom res, but I had a hack, as posted, that worked around that too. It really does work perfectly on every machine I get to sit infront of. Barring some borderline 56hz incompatibility with certain LCDs, it really should work on every Vista setup.
