I'll install FSX tonight and see how it works for me...I haven't played for a while.

EDIT: are you running it DX10? IF so it won't work. DX10 won't work at 5040..no games do.

EDIT: aahh just noticed you are using the 8800GTX, it doesn't work with the BETA version, it is only 200 series...sorry ignore below :(

... It will then install itself and ask for a restart, on restart it will give you 5040.
....

Yes it does, but at a foolish refresh rate of 55hz!!
I tried RivaTunter but it doesn't modify anything.
Any more hints?

So your displays won't display @55Hz? Or have you still not got 5040x1050 available at all?
55HZ seems to be the new standard rather than 57Hz, for the latest and BETA PD_SE

My displays show at 5040x1050@55Hz: not optimun mode and go black after 30 sec.
I already saw when I manually entered 60Hz that monitors diagnostics report 59Hz and a wonderful picture, but there's always this foolish "test failed" message and then it falls back to lower resolution.
Does anybody know how to cheat this? I mean there exist cheats that fake the hardest copy protections but there's nothing for this tiny problem in the market? If somebody of Nvidia might have the graciousness to take care of their customers' problems it wouldn't be too bad for their reputation.
Thank you in advance!

Nope I'm sorry I get the same test failed, but cos I've got 200 series GPU, the BETA one works for me straight out. The only thing to do is try all the stuff from the custom res threads...

Im running Vista X64, Triple GTX 280 5040x1050 works provided im running 180.43 and the BETA Powerdesk. After installing 181.22 my pc Blue Screens. 180.43 works fine. I also get test failed for the 181.22 for any res I attempt to add.

It apppers the issue is the Forware 181.22 drivers.

Today I got a Nvidia 280 from a friend to test. Do I have to deinstall nvidia / matrox driver and then reinstall or just plug-and-pray?
You might remember before I had a GTX8800 inside.
Cheers,
Harry

Was this with custom resolution? Or could you set this up via the PowerDesk?
