With the matrox displaying.... Refresh rate: 60 (Input refresh rate 59) hz
2x Acer als416w display 58.8hz, 1x Asus vk266h displays 59hz

1. DO YOU CURRENTLY HAVE 5040 WORKING? Yes
2. OS model & version: Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit
3. Matrox driver version: 2.06.00.026
4. Firmware version: r6.56
5. Graphics driver make & version: 195.82 BETA NVIDIA
6. Monitor make & version: All three are ACER 22" x223wabd
7. CPU make/model: Core2Quad 9650 @ 3 GHz
8. Motherboard chipset: EGVA 780i SLI
9. Graphx card make/model: Two BFG 285 GTX OC in SLI
10. Did you have to put in a custom res via NVidia CPL? (YES / NO) YES and activating it made the difference
11. If you have 5040 working, what's your refresh freq? 59.4Hz

I've been able to get 5040x1050 in Windows 7 just recently (since I just installed that OS recently).

4. Firmware version---2.3.40
5. Graphics driver make & version--- ATI Catalyst 9.12 Hotfix
6. Monitor make & version--1x Dell 2407FPW, 2x Samsung 2443BW (all 24", all 1920x1200)
7. CPU make/model--- Core 2 Q6600
8. Motherboard chipset--- ASUS P5Q Pro Turbo
9. Graphx card make/model-- 2x ATI Radeon HD 4890 (CrossFire) by PowerColor
10. Did you have to put in a custom res via NVidia CPL?--- No
11. If you have 5040 working, what's your refresh freq--- 59

I just installed the new (2.06) PowerDesk with the latest nVIDIA drivers. Changes are in red above. I still had to enter the custom resolution in control panel however this time it worked right up to 59.5 Hz as predicted. Not much of an upgrade tho IMHO...

No real change apart from 60Hz now being possible. Still no DX10 so pretty eagerly waiting the nVIDIA surround drivers then off to ebay with this POS...
