[quote]Now running Windows7 64bit on 5040x1050x59Hz!
Had to go to new Matrox software and Nvidia 182.50 Driver.. and it Runs..
Suspect it's now driver related..
182.5 is a Vista Driver.. had to force it to take it.. but it was not straight forward, So it's possible to do it, it's just not too easy..
Wouldn't run on 191.07? Mine is, but I know a heap of people for who it does not, such a mystery.
No way I could get it to run on 191.07 on mine I tried so many combinations..
Finally
DisasterArea posted this..
"Nope - In the last 72 hours I've tried:
180.xx MS download released : FAIL
190.56 from guru3d (reported to work) FAIL
190.57 from Nvidia developer area : FAIL
190.62 (latest( FAIL
190.89 Guru3d beta relase : FAIL
190.56 Tweaktown : FAIL
182.5 PASS -
There was a trick to getting 182.5 to even install.
Remove the driverd in device manager and reboot - then when it has it will pick up 186.xx automagically - DO NOT REBOOT > leave the reboot requester on screen.
whilst this is up, right click your vid card in device manage, go update, then manually select the 182.5 driver from the folders it unpacks to when you run it (if you've not run it make sure it's set to run Vista SP1 compatibility).
That should do it.
In order to get the control panel and physx etc I downloaded the individual tools and phys x packages for them and intstalled.
Everything is sweet.
Unless I see a guide PROVING something newer works, I don't believe it, as I wasted three days trying to follow the others and they simply don't work."
I followed the instructions above and loaded the driver.. then ran the wizard.. I didn't pick the 5040 resolution instead i selected the 1440x900 it appeared to not complain about a windows error..
Reboot.. up in came. reconfig follwed the boot and it booted into a blank screen... nut's
I hit the reset button and rebooted again. this time it came up and displayed at the new resolution.
I reached for the change resolution slider in windows and there it was.. 5040 .. I selected it and the rest is History.. Now I'm staying where i am untill someone can guarantee a newer driver will work.
Nvidia..can I get a better driver and keep it running please :)
Thanks to DisasterArea that was the missing link for me.. now running on 3 Benq 2420HD Monitors..
